    Default Harness bar required?

Bout to pull the trigger on another foxbody to modify for track/road course driving (want to leave my current 5.0 stock), assuming this cars weird back story adds up, and I was curious about 5 point harness belts and bars. Is the bar required to use a 5 point belt? I remember seeing some cars with them strapped to where the rear seat was, and some with bars. I am not a fan of where the bar sits in a foxbody, and if possible I would like to avoid it, but not sure if I can.

Looked on mustangshop.ca and found the seat I want, and brackets, belt etc. Just curious on this part.

    thanks!

The angle the shoulder belts matters, if they bolt too low down that's not good...

    Harness bar most likely.

A foxbody track car? I like where this is going. What mods would you do? I’d assume that red car’s torque boxes will have to be done

Yea the red car deal fell through, was more than I wanted to take on body work wise. Still on the hunt for one. First thing is to tighten everything up, Panhard bard, TQ boxes, coils, camber plates, subframe conn., bushings, etc. Ive been looking at a wheel setup, and either be 18x10 or 11. Ive never made one for track use outside of 1/4 mile, so this will be a first for me. Once I find a car I will start a thread.

As said, the angle of the shoulder belt matters, as well as the total length of the belt (for stretch?). I always cringe when I see the shoulder belts going to the anchor points for the rear seat lap belts. Usually I just wear the lap portion and explain to the driver why they risk a spine compression if they don't fix it.
