Was the case back in the day (I remember seeing them in the 90s when I was a kid), but, such is life, things change brother.

LoL. It's not like I haven't been in 25 years. I've been in November, Xmas, May, June, Halloween and February and found that every day I was there, fireworks happened.
Your link doesn't seem to confirm the story, but I found a snip from a different Disney site that does indicate that they might not be every night.

Yeah, it was pissing rain yesterday and I don’t think they had them scheduled. Confirmed that they will be on while we visit.

Not to derail but found this pass on Costco for $200 Canadian. Seems like a good deal? What’s worth seeing from the list? Definitely will do the zoo and probably check out sea world shortly just because it’s close to the hotel.

I found the San Diego Zoo to be a lot more cages and poor sightlines compared to Calgary. It's huge and there are lots more interesting animals, but it's old.

The USS Midway is incredible. But if you married a human female... She might not want to spend a full day there. And you could easily spend 2 days there if you truly stopped at everything.

Just got back from trip. Had a great time at Disney. 2 days in the park was perfect for my wife and I.

Very nostalgic going back and riding the same rides that I did 30 years ago as a kid. Also insane that none of them have changed in the slightest ha ha.

Was shocked to see Disneyland open until midnight and California Adventure until 10. All my research prior showed both parks closing at 8 which was a nice surprise. Though I felt like California Adventure was a much funner park after dark.

The Star Wars Rise of the resistance ride was really cool, also really enjoyed the web slinger ride and radiator springs. Lineups were never longer than an hour at any of the rides which was nice. Lightning lane made things easy during the busier hours as well.

Thanks for suggestion on SD. USS Midway was a highlight for sure, was really impressed with the city overall. Hardly any homeless presence downtown which is unheard of these days in any large US city. I did notice they had a massive tent encampment for them near Balboa park. Seems to be working well.

I love that ride, too. I feel lucky to have enough money to avoid that line because she's a long one.
    Glad BB had fun!

It was super cool, didn’t realize how far animatronics have gone haha. Rode it 5 times and didn’t realize there was two different ways to go until the 4th ride (paint booth or tires). When we finally got the tire swap we got a good kick out of the Italians in there. I can see how much fun it would be to bring your kids to Disney and see them in complete bliss there, one of the few times I felt like I was missing out not having kids by sharing the experience. I’ll probably come back in 10 years to see how it’s changed.

Mickey's runaway rail way is another cool new ride in tune town. Same magnetic style cars as the Star Wars, which is also amazing. When I saw the area where your photo is from for the first time my jaw dropped. Pics don't due it justice.

Thinking of hitting the park next weekend

Has anyone done the lightsaber building?

Think I am SOL for bibidy bobity but my kid is pretty into Star Wars right now and the fancy lightsaber building could be cool.

Wondering what the quality is like and how much of a PIA it is to get home / wandering park with.

It's awesome in every way except for the ludicrous cost. LAX literally allows them as Carry-On.

They were about 3 for a thousand ($Cdn) in October of 2022 and now I believe the price is higher and the exchange is substantially worse, so please update.
You need to book at Savi's Workshop in advance.

Sweet. Will see if I can schedule for an evening before the fireworks or something.

Going to attempt a solo trip with the kiddo which feels ambitious lol

My kid loved shit talking the storm troopers on rise. They’re hilariously good at smack talk back.

We did the light saber building as well and it's fun, especially at night withe the whole secrecy aspect of the experience. The quality of the lightsaber is nice, it's heavy, try to pre-decide what colour crystal you want as well.
