I enjoyed watching the post beer/champagne interviews by Kate Beirness. She looked like she was on the business end of a dirty porn...complete with running mascara.

Boring sport. Also the worst celebration in sports. Couldn't even tell which team won at the end.

I caught the last 10 seconds of this game, so the tv was on for a good half hour. Gawd damn I don't understand the appeal.

Brings up a good point. Refs reviewing every play under 2 min really disrupts the flow, momentum, and attention spans of fans.

Agreed. After watching this game and the last, I have a lot more appreciation for the NHL not wanting to introduce more video reviews because of this. Even with 1 minute left on the game clock, it was frustrating to watch and I just wanted it to end.

The way it ended really killed the celebration for the Raptors

Refs trying to make it about them with the last foul call. Totally killed the celebration.

Been a raptors fan since they've come into the league, so happy they're the champs. I think the game overall was great, don't like that KD was out and Klay got hurt.

I believe Kawhi will resign, something like a 1+1 deal so the following year he can opt out and sign for the most money he can make.

Free agency just got more interesting with KD and Klay both on the shelf basically all of next season.

One thing I hate about sports are the interviews.

"We just gotta get out there and do what we do, and the other team is gonna get out there and do what they do, and both of our teams will do what we do best."

All sports interviews in a nutshell.

You mean you hate the media. They talk like that because of media training because anything they say can and will be used out of context in clips and headlines. On top of that if they got into the details it would reveal too much of their strategy to competitors and would fly over the heads of most fans anyway. It's really like any job where you need to speak carefully and tactfully. They'll tell you what they really thought when they write a book 20 years later.

I was wondering if he was the first chinese player to win a championship but I guess Yao beat him to it. still glad that he got one though

I don't follow any sports events during regular season but playoffs are exciting to watch and this year did not disappoint.
the buzzer beater shot against the phillies in game 7 is one of them but I agree that all the timeouts and reviews kinda ruins it as it breaks the flow and momentum of the game.
last raptors timeout in game 5 is a great example.
and yesterday that last 0.9 second game lasted for more than 10 min

Yeah, Yao actually never won a championship. He is a Hall of Famer though.

So yes, that makes Jeremy Lin first Asian-American to win a NBA championship.

    Thanks for the correction.
I did think Jeremy Lin was going to be the first asian to win a ring jokingly then a friend told me that Yao won with the Rockets and believed him. I should have fact checked it first

Basketball is such an exciting game even for casual fans. It's got big engaging personalities that are interesting.

But yeah, when the last second of a game takes ten minutes or more, it kills the excitement of the players, fans and really detracts from the moment, which could have been so much better.

The ability for teams to extend the game in the last minute by fouling and taking timeouts is kinda of an annoyance. But there are many advantages the sport has over others to attract casual fans. The fact that you can see the faces of players and their emotions. The ease of lead changes to occur during a game. The ability to overcome large deficits in relatively short amounts of time. The possibility to go from being behind to taking the lead in a single last-second scoring opportunity.

You have times when it all comes together like this.

If Lowry had hit that 3-pointer at the end of game 5 it would have been a similar scenario.

Anthony Davis to Lakers for 3 1st round picks including their 4th selection in the upcoming draft, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart.

Overall both teams get what they want I think.

Pels will be good moving forward.

I like the Holiday / Ball backcourt (if Holiday isn't traded)
    Ingram
    Zion
And whatever center they get. Hopefully a spacing type like lopez, dedmon, valanciunas etc.

Edit: it'll be interesting to see how the Lakers surround Bron and AD.

Pretty crazy. Lakers still need a PG.

Raps will still be a fav if kawhi stays.
