I dunno. It seems to already be a thing, a thing that people naturally tend to do anyhow (Calgary downtown on a Sunday is like a ghost town) Why leave the lights on when no one is actually there? Business hours are 8-hours out of 24. What is so wrong with Business days being six days out of seven? Sunday shopping was illegal for 79 years up until year 1985 in Canada.

If you could convince people to not shop, you might be able to do other things, like hold festivals - repair empty roads and clear snowloads with greater ease and speed, etc...

This also coincides the possibility of the machine AI taking over and forcing people to a four day work week. The only legal 24-hour convenience stores would be those run by machines.

banks should just be open like 3 hours a day on weekday and all weekend, nobody can go to the damn bank on weekdays if they need to physically go because of some archaic banking policy that requires physically being there.

Old people dude. Old people. Like.. they used to line up outside the bank before opening..ON A MONDAY too!. If we opened 3 minutes late they would scowl at you, hobble in at an snails pace and complain to the higher ups. Then after paying thier bill, and updating thier passbook. They would stand there for eternity and go through the passbook & wonder where thier money has gone. Then they would go sit on the chairs and drink the free nasty coffee.
I only used to drink that shit to keep my focus otherise I would lose my sanity.
Banks are open during the weekday cos it gives old people shit to do and something to moan about.

The only times I've needed to actually go into a bank have been when I am not working. If my bank was open only on weekends it would be awesome.

Even if finance stuff doesn't work on Sundays, I'm looking for parts, service and test drives on a Sunday. I always thought closed Sundays was an AMVIC or Dealer Association rule.

Can't beat the PDI work of Tesla though. They can run through that process in like an hour. It's impressive.

I think I finalized my order Tuesday for a Saturday delivery... which only happened because they wanted the sale in the books before month end which was Sunday. Jokes on them because I refused delivery of my non starting car until they could give me a service statement showing it had a new battery.

Honestly, I love Tesla’s sales process and philosophy. If only they sold cars that weren’t Tesla’s I would be all over it. I don’t even care about the dirt, since it goes straight to detailers on delivery anyways.

Brasso Nissan used to be open sundays for a while. I did a test drive there on a sunday and the sales guy said they had some kind of grandfathering from before the dealers association made that rule.

That was like six years ago though. No idea if that's still happening.
