A hurricane hitting Florida between September and December? Holy shit. Unprecedented.

thank you for the much needed laugh this afternoon!
apparently this one is actually unprecedented:

record for a hurricane hitting the panhandle
Yeah, that's where the homes are? and not so much as many oilrigs.
Its strange for it to come from the gulf of mexico and slam it backwards so to speak. Although oil definitely seems to be acting like its going to be disruptive.

Cocoa $11,000 per ton.
Looks like this one will track East off our Place in South Carolina as it moves North. That's going to be two hurricanes dodged this year.

Well sure, if you want to put a specific location criteria, then almost every hurricane is unprecedented. Not trying to downplay Michael or anything here, but Irma was stronger last year, and these exaggerated record breaking headline gets tiring when every single one is purported as bigger and badder than the last one, when it's not. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. fair enough. i just thought it was funny that when i googled "florida panhandle" (admittedly i didn't know exactly where that was in FL) after reading this thread, the first result was that link with a headline saying 'unprecedented' in the titleThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Today in SC we are getting flooding and downed trees about a couple miles down the road. The wife had to turn back from going to work. Hope no trees fall on the house today.

We ended up having some flooded out roads and a bunch of large tress blocking roads. Power went out for a few hours.

$7.5B worth of f-22s completely destroyed cuz they were out of commission and couldn’t move them.

Good lesson in having 1 hangar that can be used as a storm shelter
7.5 billion buys you a lot of concrete shelters.

Air superiority only works when there isn't a hurricane. If I were to try and invade the greater USA along the coastlines, it would be during a hurricane. Arguably, it would be a risky but potentially realistic win for an invading force.
Nukes surprisingly mean nothing to an invading force that does not have a singular home country. And the likelihood of the USA nuking its own soil to prevent encroachment along the coast is not impossible, but not as likely.
Not that I'm planning on invading the USA.
