That's pretty out of the norm though. You won't find many dealers giving you this opportunity.
Each time I've bought a new vehicle the dealer has let me take it overnight.

Sorry, I should clarify. I never seen overnight test drives for used cars. I've definitely seen overnight test drivers for their demo cars, for sure.
Technically, it shouldn't make a huge difference though.

It's probably even less of a risk for them on a used car because it's presumably worth less than any new demo they have, and they probably paid some poor sap next to nothing for that used car anyway

Lol thread was an interesting read. Sounds like OP made two mistakes

-Buying a car without looking at it/trusting anyone in a car sale

    -Stepping foot in Calgary BMW

Needs pics of wife to determine next step

I've never had a single issue at calgary BMW. Read my brakes thread, they replaced my front rotors, pads and sensors for free without me even bitching about it.

Mind you they probably knew they were in the wrong, but whatever. I've serviced all of my BMWs there for most things, still no issues.

I walked into Calgary BMW with a $20k down payment in my pocket, ready to buy a new 335. Asked to speak to a sales person.

    "Nobody is available."

Okay. No problem. Can I book an appointment with someone?

"We don't take appointments / you'll have to wait."

Okay, no problem. How long will it be?

    "I don't know, sorry."

Can you ask someone? I'm hoping to buy a car today...

"No, sorry. Everyone is busy. You'll have to wait."

I then proceeded to cruise over to Lexus. I walk in and they hand me a latte. I have to wait a few minutes for a sales person, but it's all good: they let me know that it'd be about 15-30 minutes and that they'd call me if I wanted to go somewhere else for a while. All good, I decide to wait.

Sales guy comes over, takes me over to the cars. We got in six test drives.

    I buy a Lexus.

What a joke. The differenc between the dealer experiences is amazing. Totally turned me off the BMW brand and got me into a Lexus.

    Nice job, Calgary BMW.

The service and sales side of a dealership can be very different from each other.

In BMWs case, sounds like they get enough sales business from cocks and douches to themselves turn into ones. They probably dont do bookings for sales probably because so many people were no shows.

I had a similar experience. I went into the BMW dealership after the gym. Couldn't get anybody to give me the time of day. Ended up at Lexus. Their service has been fantastic.

I always racked up my Lexus experience to not being a 65yr old in a tweed blazer with elbow patches

Lol, I got treated better at bmw gallery for my X3 than royal oak Lexus for a Rx350. I found the Chinese business manager to be the worst I’ve ever dealt with, especially the bad breath.
Chinese mothball breath is the worst.

What I got from this is that A790 and Lex350 don't look douchey, but errchry and 03ozwhip do

    A790 looks like he's up for a bro-down though.
