Default Planning to sell my Honda Prelude, value, if any?

    Hey guys,

I am planning to sell my 2001 Honda Prelude, 130,000 kms, MT, a few paint chips on the hood, small amount rust on the rear fender (I plan fix or something =/ )
I know there isn't much market for Prelude (or so it seems...)
and I don't think I'll get much for it...
I might be looking in the wrong website, but Black book doesn't have entries for cars that old.

Anyone know how much I should be asking?

My five minute Kijiji search says you should wash it, take really good photos of it and list for $4500, hoping to sell for $4000.

Black book is really only good for vehicles under about 8 years old. They get that information from dealer auction prices, and 10+ year old vehicles don't go through that process. Kijiji is the source of private sale info that's easiest to access.

Or if you don't want the hassle, and it'll pass an insurance inspection, I'll offer you $1200 for it.

Mostly AT's on Kijiji actually. Of the closest in mileage, still asking $4000 to $4800.

List for $5k since it will fetch more as a MT. Settle for $4,500 based on that. Never go below 4 imo.

I was young when these were around, hang on to it, manual and low km.... Demand will grow for these. Id even consider buying it if I was looking for a something at the moment. Surprised another Beyonder hasn't bought this yet.

That's a good offer, especially considering he had no idea if it was worth anything yesterday. Beyond.ca is so helpful.

Wow. Guess that is probably about in the ballpark the 4500. Sounds so low. We sold our 2001 Prelude SE back in 2011/2012 with 75,000 kms on it and got 10K for it, maybe 10,500. It was also manual. Had a JDM front end on it and an exhaust but that was about it. Actually I think someone off here bought it. I agree they might be worth more down the road but I think that would be really down the road, not sure you want to hold onto it that long. I know I wouldn't mind one of the late 80s early 90s preludes now.

Yea, I wouldn't hold my breath on value going significantly up if the going rate for the 3rd and 4th gens is any indicator of prelude worth

I think the aesthetics of the 5th gen hasn't aged very well, particularly the front end.

Not to mention this one has rust.

Still, I'll up the bid to $1600.
