Default Segways and other self balanced conveyances

So this past Thursday morning I noticed a guy riding a self balancing electric mono wheel NB on 9th Street NE just south of McKnight. What stuck out in my mind as how un-noticeable he was - no lights, no reflectors, no reflective materials and it was still dark enough that it was difficult to actually see him.

That left me wondering how safe his choice of transportation is, how quickly can one of those things stop if someone turns out in front of him or are they highly manoeuvrable? His speed was surprisingly fast, enough so that if he had collided with a vehicle that he most likely would've been injured quite seriously.
    Will fuck off, again.

    Pretty highly manoeuvrable.

Also, based on your word choice in the thread title, I now assume you look and speak like Mr. Burns.

Self leveling forms of transportation are in the same category as golf carts.... your not allowed to use them on public streets / sidewalks in Calgary.

I see a guy quite often DT who works in the stock exchange building on a mono. He wears a full face silver helmet and looks like George Jetson

That helmet is about as safe as wearing tin foil. Simply doing it for the lulz.
