I think the Olympics may end up being the only thing woke culture cancels that I'll be happy about.
But I doubt they'll manage. They'll just force women to compete with men.

That would be almost entertaining enough for me to watch.

    Let’s do that.

How is that a bad thing? You don't think that Olympians, current and future, shouldn't have proper facilities to train and play in?
Sure, and it should be proportional to their economic and entertainment value. In other words, the investment in our olympians should have a reasonable ROI. Given their value prop is objectively pretty shitty in comparison to... well any major professional sport, the level of investment they justify should be commensurate.

The olympics is a circle jerk of epic proportions, and I don't like the idea of significant government (i.e., taxpayer) funding going towards it when that money could be used to fund a list of 100 things more important to our society.

Application to IOC should go in. No improvements or spending. Use existing stuff. Even get the old ski jumps working again. Give 0 fucks.
Where are athletes housed? Send link to airbnb.ca

This is why the Commies win everything. Oly medals actually mean something, sponsorships, endorsements, athletes get paid.

Not so much here in Canada.
Conversations like this can be intense.
