Default Raw dog food recommendations (Brands and Stores)

Where is everyone going for their Raw dog foods? We just picked up a French Mastiff (8weeks). Trying to find some good prices!

I've done very little shopping around. So I am looking for some first hand experiences.

    Thanks

That's a big dog to feed raw food. Highly recommend not doing that. Literally that dog will eat $3,000 worth of food a year.

Not the answer youre looking for, but it's the answer you need.

I really like tail blazers. Huge variety and some loyalty discounts. I think they have 3 locations. Pet planet also has a bit of raw meat but only a couple brands in a tiny freezer. I use them when I don't feel like driving out to tail blazers

I thought we had picked up a box of pets-go-raw for 60$/25lbs

At her peak she would eat 2.5lbs/day and likely average 2lbs/day

By my Marth about 75$ a month. Or ~$1000/yr.

Complete K9 out of Lacombe County.

Shit, we probably spend $150 a month on our two cats but they are on a canned diet and not your grocery store canned crap.

We get our raw food from three sources

    1 brands:
Pets go Raw made in cranbrook
    Urban carnivore made in Saskatchewan
Artisan raw dog food made in Canmore

    2 stores
We get the majority of the raw food from our labs breeder and it is the best deal...
    Tailblazers
    Global pet foods

If you have any questions, I have been feeding raw to my dogs for 15 years

We order from Moki Runs online. They deliver to your door, however you have to order a month in advance. We backfill with Tail Blazers if we run out too early.

Edit: For cost, we're averaging $150-$175 a month for about 2-1/2 lbs a day. Really depends what we order, and we like to change it up for him every month. Something to keep in mind is that you want a good balance of meats, veg, and bone.

How do i make sense of these online calculators? I am getting some pretty different values depending on where I look. Ideal adult weight is going to be around ~100lbs. She is ~8weeks now.

We have 4 dogs on raw and we get all of ours from Unleased off of 14th ave. They are pretty Decent and if you pick up you get 10% off. We have found that some raw does not sit with our dogs. Our go to is Carnivora for Chicken and we get Pets go Raw for Beef and Bison.

the guys are Right though the bigger the dogs the more raw they eat we are easily 450 a month for our four dogs. 2 big dogs and 2 small ones

Thanks I was at unleashed this afternoon. Picked up a box of Carnivora but it was just over $100 for 25lbs. The lady there was great and they have free Delivery which is nice.

I feed/fed a 140lb newfoundland and 2 small 12lb dogs on raw and we used about 50lbs to 60lbs a month give or take a few pounds. I get my raw from the complete k9 out of Lacombe. He delivers through Calgary once a month. 50lbs of the Ultimate (whole chicken ground with organ meat) cut into 1lb blocks cost about $80. It is not near as e pensive as buying from the store and the quality is excellent. He has.lots of other options too.

Good to know. I heard from friends it cost them almost $10 a day for their shepherd. Was a few years ago though

Since there is so little markup on raw food you will find most places are fairly similar or close to pricing.

It's either pay for quality food, or pay for vet bills. Raw diet has saved me a fortune at the vet.

We use Carnivora Bison for my English Bulldog. I haven't even thought of shopping around, I was just happy my dog wasn't sick all the damn time anymore. I'll have to see what sort of recommendations come from this thread, I don't mind saving money when I can. This Carnivora runs us about 4.15$ a day for what he eats(1.5 patties).

I feed my dog Complete K9 as well since it was the most affordable option.

Picking up at Doodle Dogs is the easiest for me since I live dt but they have other pickup options direct from the supplier as well.

I know one of the owners of Back to Basics very well. Her dogs are the ultimate showcase for their product, as their coats and composition are all amazing. Awesome people, awesome product (that's even conveniently packaged into single servings if you want). Just my 2 cents

I have been feeding my dog raw duck made by Carnivora, 108$ per 25 lbs. box. He eats 1 lb per day. Not cheap but he seems to be itching less on it, we think he is allergic to chicken.

Might try out this Moki Runs because it is only 2.7$ per lb.
