Maybe it was really just what some would label addiction switching but I recall it being impossible to drink when I was obsessively playing Call Of Duty or whatever multiplayer, online games. I just had no desire to impair my performance, at all, when doing that.

LoL!! I used to participate in an annual vodka tasting event and a couple of the years they hooked up whatever version of Gran Turismo on this mammoth indoor theater thing and we'd partially gauge inebriation by how shitty a driver we became.
It was amazing to see the difference in lap times. Sure, you could easily get around the track at 0.06 without crashing but your ability to find the line and hit apexes and all the other advanced motor skills were abysmal.

Funny to revisit this thread. At the time when I posted, I've basically stopped being an alcoholic and just drink occasionally. During the pandemic, with work being so busy and wanted to have better focus, I cut out alcohol completely. I pretty much didn't drink for nearly a year.

I had my first drink this week, all because @WBB6 discovered that they started bringing in Wyborowa Exquisite again. Got myself 6 bottles, and really nice to have a drink while watching some hockey. I feel like I've been on edge and haven't really relaxed through this whole pandemic.

Back in the peak days, I would needed something like 8 drinks before it affected my F1 racing lap times haha.

I find I’m actually faster in Forza after 2-4 strong drinks. I play a lot of spec rivals with friends and it smooths and de tenses me and I usually find time compared to being stone cold sober.
