Has anyone attempted to repair a vitamix out of warranty?

So our vitamix motor doesnt appear to be doing a fine job anymore and also kind of smells like burning plastic. I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and fixed it or just decided to get a new one?

Isn't the motor on vitamix covered for life? I'm pretty sure that's what they said when we bought ours.

Vitamix has either a 5, 7, or 10 year warranty depending what you bought. If it's older than that, just grab a new one - it had a great life.

Also make sure the base itself is the issue and not the carafe.

Pull it apart and see if anything obvious is wrong. Not like you’re going to fuck it up more.

AvE on YouTube pulls apart brand new $600 blenders and shit all the time to see what makes them chooch. There isn’t much to them.

I will check out his channel thanks. I suspect a new drive socket and container would fix the problem. I think the current container slips on the old drive socket and therefore is not working as well
