So canada post has been having rotating strikes at different locations around the country for a week or more. I know it hasn't impacted my life at all yet. Anyone care about this, or is it a nonissue?
I care
I don't care.

My bank was stupid enough to send my new credit card via Canada post. They said 7-10 business days, it’s been 14 business days and still don’t have it. So yea pisses me off a bitThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My neighbor works in management at CP, he’s pretty pissed off. No one on the front lines wants these strikes, it’s driven 100% by the guys up top in the union and the front line guys are the ones paying for it in the end with stupid schedules and a huge backlog they have to clear regardless
I have a package from USPS on the way, last scan was Oct 26 out east.
So it sucks for me I guess?
I can eat more hot wings than you.
Canada Post is on strike?
Fucking unions
Yep, the Marxists again up top - cratering those down at the bottom.

Could not possibly care less - there are plenty of other couriers that quite frankly do a much better job anyway.
I don't even know what they are striking about. I have neighbor who delivers for them and he is done his entire day's work at 11AM every day.
As I mentioned it sounds like no one on the front line wants this, just greedy people high up in the union. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think that's quite often true. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I guess people who have mail coming through Ontario would be more severely impacted as hundred of loaded trucks are piling up out there and the backlog is growing.
I have exactly one item being sent canada post that I care about this month, and it's staying within Calgary.

I care, only because my dad is on the front lines, and he doesn't want it. He even considered crossing the line, but was worried about being physically attacked.
He's concerned about getting a regular paycheck.

I check my mail once every 2 weeks and it's usually just full of junk. I can count on one hand how many mailings are actually important.
Almost everything is an estatement / epost delivery.
as an amazon seller, i care, canada post is easily the cheapest shipping option for me (mostly ship my stuff lettermail)
Also with their free shipping tuesdays for small business in october its nice to get a break, but its not worth the savings when it takes 2 weeks for a 2 day $72 (but free because tuesday so i cant even bitch for a refund) expresspost item to get to amazon in mississauga.

I don't receive many mails, but I do check everyday. Sometimes, I find that I don't get anything (not even ads / flyers) on days around weekends, especially long weekends. So maybe even before the strike, whoever that handles my mail don't come around every weekday anyways.
You're probably right, as someone else mentioned that is likely often the case. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That seems odd. I sent quite a few xpresspost shipments and so far most are 1-2 days late at most. I haven’t had anything major delayed yetThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have a second USPS shipment from the USA thats now 3 days late.
2 weeks late on the one, 3 days late on the other. Both being handled by Canada Post.

I asked our mail room, they said CP was still picking up packages but every 2 days instead of every day. Not ideal but doesn't sound too bad at least on that side of things.
