You should Google "economies of scale".

Canadapost request to international carriers to stop sending goods to Canada. Sad. I'm pretty sure this was reserved for times of war, and natural disasters that destroyed the infrastructure of the country, and not simple labor disputes.

Singles Day probably broke their back. Black Friday in the USA is coming up too, even though I don't bother with goods made in the USA anymore.

Amazon Prime came through for me though.

amazon is smart enough to not use canada post.... (although most days intelcom isn't any better)

This has got to be the final straw that if other countries didn't think Canada was a joke, they have to be now

You shut your whore mouth. Intelcom is 10x better than canada post.

You can leave that anywhere you want, but it still won't be a counterpoint to my statement. For all we know, it might only cost them $1.50 to get an envelope across the country and the $3.9B loss could be a result of bad business strategy, overpaid union workers, and overstaffed sorting facilities

Also +100 for intelcom. We've gotten dozens of packages through them and they are the best by a mile. Notification prior to heading out, your number in the queue, and photo/confirmation on delivery. Doesn't get any better than that.

intelcom is fine as long as you dont mind your shit getting football tossed on to the step from 10 feet away and the doorbell being ignored.... or them marking "unsafe to leave" when they didn't even come to the house... i was home, and have security cams, guy was just lazy and didn't want to do the delivery.... or leaving large/heavy parcels IN FRONT of an outward opening screen door so you're trapped in your own house....

Weird. Apparently the guys who do my route are better. I have none of those issues.

If Canada Post wants to remain they should probably get back to work for the Christmas shipping season

We get lots of Intelcom deliveries. Most walk to the porch and place the package by the door. About 1 in 6 actually walk up the 2 stairs to the door and ring the bell. So far haven't have any thrown yet.
Fedex and Purolator almost always ring the bell.

This canada post thing is so stupid. The backlog should just be subbed out to any of the other 17 shipping companies, let those chumps stay on strike for the next 20 years.

400+ semis full of mail sitting in Toronto? Maybe that's why my package was scanned there on Oct 26 and hasn't moved since.

Bought something from ebay, seller refunded me saying they've been told to not send it.

Hello, Friend.I am sorry, ebay has notified Canada Post to strike, and now all packages cannot be sent to Canada. It is recommended to cancel the order and I will full refund. thanks and regards.

I do hope that this disruption is the straw that breaks the Marxist horses' back.

Cbc reports 600 trailers full of parcels are idle across the country, with an average of 2500 packages in each one.

Also, there's zero chance this does anything to weaken the union. The federal liberals don't want to be seen as anti-labour.

Can we get Ronald Reagan up out of his grave to fire all of these people.

Also: the gov't sucks at everything they do.
