Tell them you paid for a service, you expect to receive that service or for them to compensate/refund you.

It won't be much, but you'll probably $7 back. Or possibly half a year of prime, I've seen that before.
I usually get 1 month of free prime for each late shipment.

If you have prime, and it's late complain. Every time. It's worth it.

Canada post delivered a parcel yesterday. I've had Sunday parcel deliveries before from them, weirdly.
CanadaPost now delivers parcels 7 days a week until the first week of January due to the holiday demand, they do it every December as of recent.

I feel all this will do is have Amazon remove beneficial shipping for Canada.
Happened to a home shopping channel. They quit shipping to Canada due to poor delivery times and costs.

I made a comment about how the only thing I seem to be receiving is apologies, and they offered 20% refund on the entire order, which works out to $22, so I'm cool with that.

Have a package right now that doesn't even list the location other than Canada, lol. The ones supporting the strike don't realize that it's actually counterproductive to their existence, it shows consumers and vendors like Amazon that use them that they are becoming irrelevant because one, they are unreliable for parcel service and two, there are better alternatives even if they may be more expensive (fed ex, up).

I complained about a late package last week and they refunded me the total cost and said keep the product(~$25).

As for Canada Post I sent a package express to Newfoundland on Wednesday and it got there today. However something I ordered online Nov 24th was still in Ontario until today

Wow, damn I better be more aggressive next time. I've gotten items for free before, but the last one the guy was super stingy. It didn't affect me at the end of the day too much, so I figured $8 is $8.

I'm going to try for more in the future after hearing your feedback though

How often do you order from Amazon, I assume pretty regularly for them to refund you the total cost of the product. I have an order that i paid 15 shipping for that said order by... and receive it sunday, hasn't showed up and probably won't come until Tuesday night so I'm going to probably ask for a credit since I specifically paid extra because i needed the item asap.

I just checked and we ordered 21 times in the past 6 months:/ I didn't ask for any compensation, just an update on when I would get it. At most I thought they might offer a free month of prime.

It's 12 for me in the past two weeks, going order probably a few more this month, the fact that they refunded you is probably because you're a loyal customer and they want you to return. I've read that they will do this from time to keep good customers like you happy.

What do people buy to order that much? I haven't even used Prime this year, forgot I had it.

Basically everything you can buy in a store.

I'm all over the place. Lots of small things I'm in no rush to get, but too lazy to grab myself. Some electronics, some games, some small appliances, some gifts. I've even purchased some things for the home gym. I use camelcamelcamel to keep an eye on prices as well.
    I'm at 58 orders placed in 2018.

Anytime I go to buy something that basically isn't food, I check Amazon for the same part #/item or an equivalent.

Then I decide how much of a hurry I am in. If the price is less than local by >10%, and I'm in no hurry, Amazon.

Somedays 1 day shipping is actually quicker since it comes to the office vs me having to go out into the city and deal with traffic/people, so that factors in as well.

For big ticket items (>$75) I usually have it inputed into CamelCamelCamel to alert me if there is a price drop.

I have saved a ton of money doing this. Rarely am I in a big enough hurry I need something same day. I bought a new thermostat recently, and stopped at a PartSource for it.

So I buy almost everything I can off Amazon, unless I feel a strong desire to support local (niche/mom and pop stop/hobby stuff) or specifically support a business (due to sponsorship or being a part of the communities I'm involved in).

Ordered a pair of pants on Black Friday that are stuck somewhere in Quebec. The tracking just updates once a day with “delivery may delayed due to labor disruption”

I do probably 50% of my total shopping on amazon

I would do way more, except Id guess 25%-50% of the items are ridiculously overpriced.. Im guessing sellers list high and go buy the item at the store and ship out.

It is really important to check your prices.

Had a package shown as delivered to my house by Canada Post tracking but did not actually arrived. A few days later a neighbour dropped off the package at my house. Apparently, Canada Post delivered it to the wrong house. That kind of service is just bad.

Gf shipped a package earlier this week via Canada post, was 3.4 lbs, pretty small box as well. $40 for PEI to Calgary. I sent a package today via FedEx, 7lbs, larger box than the one my gf sent out earlier this week - $31 PEI to Red Deer, this was FedEx ground 6 business day.

Outside of basic mail and letters, I don't see any point in sending parcels via CP, more so after this strike.
