Just got two shipments from Amazon that originated in Ontario, got both within two days and I only got the basic free shipping. One shipped through purolator and the other through intelcom.
I care
I don't care.

Looks like the strikes in Calgary have ended for now. However they probably have a few days backlog to go through.
they were striking in calgary on wednesday and thursday, so now they have to bust their asses twice as hard to catch back up... makes sense right? lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I can only assume they get paid a whole bunch of OT for extra work required. I'm sure they aren't that broken up about it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
nope, fuck Canada Post.
UPS does my business and they do it with pride.
Went from dont care, to starting to care because someone shipping via canada post against my request. tracking said 2 days on monday morning. its still in Mississauga today as best I can tell from tracking.
Any way to see where they are on strike currently?
Downside is this doesnt make me appreciate Canada Post and their hard work. It just pisses me off and ensures i use alternate shipping in the future wherever possible.
AliExpress isn't shipping via post until the strike is over. Seems Gearbest must be doing the same.
Shipping is around $42 via DHL for any given item on my list. So much for Black Friday.
Not a huge deal overall, but amazon is at least double the price for the earphones I wanted to buy today.

Interesting. Article says the backlog could persist into January, so it's now luck of the draw as to what happens to stranded parcels.

I've had a package coming in from Victoria to Edmonton delayed by 4-5 days so far due to the strike nonsense. Was supposed to be in today and now tracking shows next Monday. They need to get their asses moving and put this shit to rest.
I'm waiting for several packages and it sucks. I also shipped items on expedite to see if I could beat the rotation but nada.
Also have family working and they hate the strike.
Ditto. My dad has been complaining non-stop about the strikes, as a letter carrier. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

SAME, I had two previous packages from Amazon that showed up on time and even early so I didn't care. However on the other hand I have one package that I paid for Nov 24 that I haven't received yet. Low and behold it's because Canada Post is shipping it, this is the current status lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Delay in delivery due to weather or natural disaster
OTTAWA, ON CA
Estimated delivery date is 1-11 days even though I've been waiting for it since the 24th.

I’m in the same boat as you. I love how probably because no other amazon carriers go on strike in Canada they don’t even have a appropriate reason for the delay hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This is one that makes me happy I have prime, and chose 2-day prime shipping:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If you have prime, and it's late complain. Every time. It's worth it.
Canada post delivered a parcel yesterday. I've had Sunday parcel deliveries before from them, weirdly.

Also:
Understanding your concern, I've checked and see that the item was not available with your nearest fulfillment center and so that we need to obtain more stock from another fulfillment center and that made the order delayed in shipping.

It won't be much, but you'll probably $7 back. Or possibly half a year of prime, I've seen that before.
