Considering the qn900c is their 8k qled, that’s a solid price. I mean it’s not a great TV by any means imo, until we have 8k content I guess, and that’s arguable if it’ll make a difference from 4k at this size.

I can see a bit of an upgrade when comparing this against my other 10year old tv but canÂ’t see the thousands of dollar difference between this and any current tv on the market. Anyhow, I should be good for another 10 years. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ps, I know you guys used to talk about picture calibration lots. Is that still a worth while endeavor?
It’s worth less and less these days. Most TVs come out of the box pretty close. Although I am thinking of buying gear to calibrate on my own. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Damn, that's quite a discount off $7K Costco price. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just working on calibration. Out of the box it’s a bit brighter than the x95 Sony, black detail and colors pretty close to Sony. For the price and big jump in size, great tv for the money. Chinese junk brands churning out great tvs in the last few years.
Wall speakers needs to move for next upgrade.

Looks good, except for all of the spaghetti on the floor
I have a wireless setup but I prefer wired for guitar at home. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
PS5 used to be hidden but needed it on the floor to connect VR and steering wheel.

Rtings dropped their review yesterday on the Hisense U88N.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/u8-u8n
Results pretty much lines up with my first impressions, other than black level. Looks like their calibrated black levels are way deeper than X95's. Going to look at how far off their settings are compared to mine.

Costco.ca has the 83” C3 OLED tv for $3500 right now
After a week with the TV, safe to say this is the best “cheaper” tv I’ve bought. The pq especially hdr is top tier. Huge bang for the buck in all sizes.
Current visions prices:
Can def get better prices by haggling because visions.

Finally getting my HT space back in the basement end of Oct, which means time to go shopping and think I've chosen the 85" U88N and a Panasonic BluRay player. Initially was pretty stuck on the Sony A95L but the price delta is ludicirous for what RTings has as a likely measurable difference (negligible).
So. Stoked.

Yea the 88n is huge bang for the buck. Basically the modern day Vizio p quantum. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Speaking of Vizio, the pq is what 8 years old now? Crazy how shitty it looks today. It may still be bright as fuck, but the blooming and color vibrancy is basically entry level tv. Need to upgrade that thing.

I'm going to need a nice big TV to fill the space at the new house.
