The question is, do I pounce when you get a free bezel and $1000 sound bar, or wait and see if they do something for Black Friday/cyber Monday

Do you need a sound bar or not? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Keep in mind the tv and sound bar will both be cheaper on Black Friday weekend. I’d bet it’s a wash either way if you’re buying a sound bar.
I think mine had the same issue. Look into a setting known as CEC. Will look at mine today if I get a second. I think i turned it off as Shaw box kept waking up tv in middle.of the night. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Technically no, but a new one wouldn’t be a bad thing as mine is 10 years oldThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
One of my TVs just died. Assuming black Friday is the move?

I'm looking for an 80", was waiting for black friday to at least do some comparison shopping. If anyone comes across anything let me know! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Bought our last TV a few weeks before Black Friday. Walked into Best Buy to check out the TV in person and the sales guy offered $350 off and the TV was $1,600. I checked it out during Black Friday and it was for sale at $1,450 or so. Was pretty happy with the spontaneous purchase.
Looking to get a 50" Frame and disappointed that the sound bar deal doesn't apply to that size.
We are now like 3 weeks away? If you can hold. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That said, there was quite a bit TV deal coming out of summer than normal. May be BF won't be as good this year.
Open box 65" X95K for $1500 @ London Drugs. One at Shawnessy.

It's probably gone. Some one called and it's been on display for about a month. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
LD is good to stumble into randomly and see what manager wants to clear. A lot of their TV deals are never advertised.
Still love my 950H or whatever I have that's part of the 95x line. Replaying GTA5 on it with my kid, in HDR, and the brights are phenomenal.

They doubled the dimming zones for the X95L over the X95K. If you aren't in a hurry, I'd wait 6-8 months for those to get blown out over the X95K. I have an X95K and enjoy it immensely, but the L is better.
Then again, I am sure when the X95M gets released in the spring, it will be better. lol

I’ve heard the latest gen of OLED’s have gotten brighter. Anyone have any experience or opinions on that?

@killramos this was the TV that I saw at someone's house in a bright living room:
https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/g3-oled
Still the same brightness issues, I mean I guess it's better compared to the last OLEDs.
The LG G3 has amazing peak brightness in HDR. Its highlights reach and sustain a significantly higher brightness than the LG G2 OLED. Unfortunately, its Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) is still very aggressive and dims highlights significantly, but even when dimmed, the TV is still quite a bit brighter than its predecessor. The 83-inch model lacks the MLA focusing layer, so it's not as bright.
Setting Peak Brightness to 'Off' reduces the aggressiveness of the ABL feature but also reduces the peak brightness of the panel in all scenes. Note that the TV throttles its brightness in HDR more aggressively than it does in SDR, leading to lower HDR sustained and peak brightness levels with a 50% or 100% window when compared to its SDR brightness levels. To me it's still a TV for darker/light controlled rooms. I still don't get why rtings always over exaggerate their descriptions of OLED. I guess their reviewers value blooming and perfect image over real world brightness and usability. Or they live in caves. The LG G3 TV has great peak brightness in SDR. It's especially impressive when bright content takes up a large portion of the screen, even when the brightness is sustained, but it also does small bright highlights in SDR better than any other OLED short of the Samsung S95C OLED. The LG is easily bright enough to overcome glare in bright rooms, but its Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) still significantly dims bright scenes. Still, it's not as aggressive as ABLs on other OLEDs.
Setting Peak Brightness to 'Off' reduces the aggressiveness of the ABL feature, but also reduces the peak brightness to about 400 cd/m² in most scenes.
