Default Competitors to SalesForce software - suggestions

This type of software isn't something I know much about, however I've been asked to provide input at work.
Main features we are interested in are typical CRM stuff like client notes, sales forecasts, invoice tracking etc. I assume those features are common.

In addition to this I'd really love if it had a more robust document sharing/storage feature to allow us to create and share relevant information, but still tie to client/job/invoice etc.

Once we have it all up and running, I'd like to be able to quickly find quote, invoice, tools and men actually sent to the job, any manufacturing documents/records etc.

Needs to be cloud based, as this is a distributed organization. No local servers.

So, you folks know more than me, what do I need, and am I asking the right questions?

    Microsoft Dynamics?

Can toss it up in to the cloud with Dynamics 365... Integrates with Office, etc...

Wow, $115/user/mo. Seems crazy high. I thought I saw somewhere that Salesforce "basic" was like$25/user/mo?

We've used both Salesforce and Smartsheet to do very similar tasks.

If your company is using office 365 already couldnt they just use microsoft teams/one note for the sharing and document storage part of your request.

I work for a massive american company and we have many systems like SAP; but we also use salesforce as a customer ticketing system instead of something else more expensive.

I kind of feel like this is going to be taken care of by some higher level organizational stuff, but it came up again, so I'll ask again if anyone has furhter suggestions.
Ease of adoption would be a priority, and low cost is nice.

I'll piggy back on this and ask if anyones using any crm software that's hot a great mobile app.

I think I'll need to download a few options to play around with but that can be quite time consuming. At first glance it doesnt look like salesforce app is as good as others when it comes to logging your txt, calls or using caller I'd to identify names from your crm.

Necro Bump, to mention that while I'm at a completely different company than when i started this thread, the new company has just implemented a CRM system, and they chose HubSpot. So far it's been mostly good. Quality mobile app, everything in the cloud, tasks and contact tracking seems to work.

it's early days, and this is the first CRM system I've used, but so far so good.

I have about 20 "certifications" from HubSpot I think. Used it quite a bit over the years. It works well for what it is.

Like most CRMs, the weakest point is generally the people using it, or not using it as it were. No amount of automation or setup can outweigh laziness.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

I’ve experienced well setup Salesforce, with strict processes… and also poorly setup salesforce with lackadaisical processes… night and fucking day. But that’s the biggest issue with salesforce. If you’re corp isn’t big enough, or unwilling to invest in the capital it takes to maintain it and train users… don’t bother

Guess it depends… there are some industry specific ones that tend to do 90% of what those businesses need, dedicated team honing a CRM for many businesses is usually better than one poor IT guy tasked at a single company’s CRM
