Check out their Facebook, there's even a meme posted that says something along the lines of "I'll never change, even if I get another DUI", captioned under a picture of two rig workers.. Really sad... Obviously not all rig workers are like this (and not all rig workers drive big stupid trucks when they come home) but there's enough of them that are to give them all a bad name and now thanks to this woman's business the whole country is laughing at us all. I'm not really militant either way on the issue as I can appreciate both sides, but what she is doing is really doing Alberta a lot of damage.

Unfortunately that spills out to the entire economy. People trash on rig pigs, but when those goofs are out of work they aren't buying new trucks, tipping your GF that works at Joeys or the pizza guy, supporting Sunglass hut by selling them out of white Oakleys, etc. When drilling is struggling, it has a far reach.

And really, they might not have a lot of education. But I'm willing to bet most educated people that don't make their money wouldn't spend 300 days a year away from home, busting ass in the cold and doing that sort of work to make a measely 100k/yr. So power to them. I sure as fuck wouldn't go do that job unless it was paying 400k/yr.
