    Default Advertising Rental Property

    What's everyone using today?
Still just rentfaster? Or are there other apps to place your property on?

I had a lot of weirdos come through on Kijiji. Found success on RentFaster. But that was also 2y ago.

My parents have 2 rental properties.

Rentfaster + good photos has always worked for them. Or you can hire a property manager to find renters for you, but cost is higher.

This go around was so shit compared to the last 4 years.

I tried Facebook, Rentfaster, Kijiji and even some garbage site called Rentza (do not use this PoS).

I'd say my most serious and professional inquiries were on Rentfaster, full-stop.

I had a lot of responses on Facebook (like 20), and maybe half followed-up beyond the initial inquiry. Facebook also yielded 3 no shows which was very surprising given I can see who they are...

Kijiji was a mix of both.

Kijiji and Rentfaster. I've had more success with Kijiji.

Just recently used Rentfaster and Kijiji. Rentfaster was good, some time wasters but in the end the place got rented through there. Kijiji I think I received maybe one response.

Overall, I noticed that rent prices are definitely not what they used to be even a year ago, so if you are having a hard time finding someone, it means your price is to high.

Thanks all. Yeah, I've never used Kijiji. I will stick with Rentfaster. Been using them for 10 years so I was wondering if any new apps have popped up.

triplep: I have done my due dilligence on pricing. Rents have been depressed for a few years now and have had to reduce it in that time. With interest rates moving up, the # of renters will increase.
Typically, I don't have an issue getting inquiries, but I have a large # of no shows lately.

Why not use both? The rental market is still a bit rough out there to find tenants so i would take advantage of any free advertising. Kijiji can be a shit show at times but it does work and if its still free its worth a shot. No matter what there will be no shows and i would expect now with the amount of choice out there for tenants its going to be worse in terms of no shows.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

    Kijiji.

Facebook is a major time waster, and all you get is natives 75% of the time.

Still, quality of renters has gone waaaaaaay downhill.

why wouldnt you advertise absolutely everywhere for your rentals? I found awesome tenants via Facebook 3 yrs ago for one of my properties. Ive found good tenants on kijiji multiple times as well.

What I've found is rent faster wasnt as good as kijiji or Facebook for me... I've always been surprised by this.

I had awesome luck in June when renting my one condo rental. I had 6 or 7 showings a day. Had 3-4 applications to pick through in the first week. I did notice more renter inquiries from rent faster this time but the tenants I picked didnt come from them.

It may be annoying to sift through the morons and idiots but that's your job as a landlord. I think it's a mistake to ignore other platforms.

Found our renters on Facebook. Barely got any action off of rentfaster. Didn't bother with Kiiji.

As a renter, I browse Kijiji for the cheaper stuff like basements, and rentfaster for the upscale apartments. I hardly ever look at Facebook, because 99% of the time if someone has posted something on Facebook, they also have it elsewhere. And it just doesn't have the search filters of a dedicated platform
