Vermilion and SemCAMS/Energy Transfer both had some layoffs yesterday - roughly 10% from the sounds of it.

10% of their Canadian staff, with the field getting hit in Jan.

Any idea what divisions at Vermilion were effected and if it was global or just Canada?

I don't know the exact details but I know some of the technical staff (engineers/land/geos) looking after deep basin assets were let go.

Punctuation is key in your post.

    But yes, fingers crossed.

I'd say so. $300MM in synergies must be at least a couple of Ft. Mac salaried jobs.

There's just an employee forum tomorrow at IOL. I doubt anyone is going home tomorrow, but that's not to say that some won't be leaving before Christmas.

The best statement I've heard to describe Imperial is "The bureaucracy must expand to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy."

Describes a lot of large oil companies actually.

I heard that Varel Energy solutions gave everyone in Canada their severance papers today as they are pulling out of Canada. I guesstimate a few dozen people likely losing their jobs.
