Well I guess it was that time. Job is pretty well coming to an end, so I'm back to laid off status as well. Not much for a welder going on right now, and if there is, thousands competing.

What do ya do I guess, nature of the construction business. Usually there is a job right around the corner, but not so much right now.

Hopefully you can get on with the abandonment well program when that starts up.

They laid off the entire rec department?
Most CoC rec employees have been laid off for a while now.

Personally, still working 6 days a week with even more work on the horizon plus offers to work elsewhere.

I always find it interesting when people come into these threads and talk about how much work they have or how they’ve managed to get raises.

I can tell you that some of my clients are busy as F. Roofers and other outdoor contractors are screaming right now for bodies. I got a former framing man, lined up as a roofer... haha

How do temporary layoffs work? Laid off March 23, in the layoff letter it says "with an expected return to work date of May 25". Been hearing from co-workers its busy but not busy enough to bring people back yet. So do I just show up for work May 25 or do they have to formally write me a recall letter saying your re-hired?

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

It’s amazing how many people don’t want to work when the government is giving them $2k/mo to take a 4 month vacation.

We have had issues getting trades to site in the field as well, wether you have work or not everything has slowed to a crawl.

Not surprised at all to hear people can’t get trades to show up here in town either. I’ll let you guys know how my journey have a nat gas hookup installed goes.

Wait a sec, are you saying there are downsides to, and *gasp*, there might even be some people taking advantage of CERB?

    Get out of town.

Hearing that Arc is doing some consolidating of their privates.

Substantially everyone at rifle shot was canned yesterday, with them and another co getting absorbed by a bigger private.

Tell them to give it 6 months, they wont have any work come the fall. We've seen design work drop off a cliff the last 2 months, everyone is holding till they know WTF is going on.

I would if I knew, all I know is from my wife’s friend at RSO and that it’s 3 Arc Cos merging.
