I see them jacking it up every year really. They have a lot of people by the balls that ended up canceling cable or otherwise always watch Netflix. A couple $ increase every time doesn't mean THAT much to an average person but it's a huge profit for the company when compounded with all the users. Even if a few users cancel the membership they still won't care as overall they'd be making more.

This is where we're leaning. Original Netflix content is only worth so much, we'd do fine with Hulu+ and Crave+. US VPN still gets us Crackle too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With the raised prices, I'll likely go back to subscribing for a few months out of the year. There is not enough new content for a yearly subscription - I personally struggle to find anything decent to watch these day anyway.
yeah, i never even knew that there are different levels for netflix. so is basic just SD quality?! lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Basic = View one tv/tablet etc. at a time, 1080p
Mid range = Multiple tv's/tablets etc., 1080p
Premium = 4k
Basic is one device, SDThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Standard is 2 devices, 1080P
Premium is 4 devices, 4K
All plans let you download for offline viewing to the same number of devices that streaming is allowed.
with Carve, Amazon Prime, Netflix it's kinda adding up now
What do Crave and Prime offer over Netflix? Grand Tour is on Prime, other than that I haven't seen anything to make it worth the subscription, and I can just torrent Grand Tour anyway. Crave has nothing far as I can tell, maybe just newer content than Netflix? But Netflix has lots of exclusive content to make it worth my while. Maybe I'm just not on the up and up with these other services? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Spending useless funds on items on amazon. I never really use Amazon prime for movies/shows they are mostly older, not a big fan. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

There is a special kind of kick in the pants when they raise prices to produce new original content at the same time as dropping my favorite shows (Marvel)...

Yeah, I'm starting to consider dropping Netflix, since I still download a lot of my content. I also have Amazon Prime, mostly for the shipping, with the added benefit of the streaming.

Personally we dropped netflix a few years ago as there was just not enough content we wanted to watch. Once that new Disney+ (i think that is what it's called) comes out, might check it out and see how it is. It looks like all the Marvel shows will be moving to that streaming network once everything is finalized.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m nowhere near considering dropping Netflix. It’s incredible value at double the price. I mostly just want more daredevil lol

Im curious about that, if netflix developed them, could Disney take them, or have to start new? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Did Netflix jack up their prices?
I had to update my card and still at $13.99/month

Prime is just a bonus for ordering shit on Amazon. Original contents are not bad, I watch a lot of sports documentaries like "All or Nothing" and "GP driver".This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Crave is good for HBO/showtime contents, movies are newer than Netflix too i find.
I actually have Prime, I've just never used the streaming because I haven't heard anything worthwhile about it. Same goes for Amazons music service. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
