Default France riots - or Parisians really know how to party.

Apparently there's more riots in France. Current ones seem to be about "rising taxes and the high cost of living."

Doesn't France have major riots every year? It's like thier national sport.

Millennials are spiteful that they can't take weekend trips on the Concorde anymore.

    https://www.quora.com/How-much-fuel-did-Concorde-use

"Concorde, used about 2 tons of fuel to taxi from the gate to the airport’s runway. During takeoff, Concorde operated on afterburner, due to which it consumes at the rate of 32.5 liters each second."

We all need to focus on the fact that it's an increase in FUEL TAX that have them rioting in the streets. Fucking hypocrites!!!
Call it a CARBON TAX and they should all accept it happily.

Four cents per litre was the planned increase. Holy shit, does that seem minor to anyone else?

In other parts of the world the populations get really pissed off when governments interfere or impose taxes on the population. Very unlike Canada where we just bend over and take it, lol.

It actually gives me hope that maybe the leftist governments don't actually speak for the people.
More countries should withdraw from the global wealth re-distribution scheme that is the Paris Agreement.

We should riot like this everytime they try to increase our taxes.

I'm fucking sick of it. Taxes naturally increase due to them being typically % based, but then they keep piling more taxes on.

In Canada, 45% of earning pay taxes. Thats more than the % that goes to putting a roof over your head.

Sacre Bleu! They're closing down the Eiffel tower.

8,000 police deployed, but still not quite bad enough to bring out the artillery.

The reason we don't riot is that everyone is just like you, all talk and no action.

Increase in fuel leads to an increase in the price of cheese, bread and wine. And they have dam good cheese. They really do.

I remember back in 2003 I was in Biarritz and I had a Cheese baguette with some red wine. I cant explain it. It was so dam good.

Can you blame them..? The price of this staple is going up.
Fuck that. Revolt. Vive La France.

I now understand the situation more clearly. These rioters are against a miniscule consumption tax on themselves, because they would rather Macron increase the taxes on the wealthy.
    Timeline:
    1) Hollande taxed the wealthy 75%
    2) Mass exodus of wealthy people from France https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...AR-France.html
    3) Macron reduces tax to 50%
    4) Macron proposes small consumption tax on everyone
    5) Rioting in the streets

France has basically ran out of wealthy people and other people's money. Canada is headed in the same direction. Imagine when Quebec runs out of Alberta's money.

This is the truth and the reality, its still good enough for us to not put what we have on the line and really fight when we need to. The question is then, is what will it take to get people really motivated and to storm the Houe or something like that? Trudeau is just taking a run at Canadians and doing whatever he sees fit, and there is no real pushback so why would he change course?

You are right though, people like you are the reason protests don't happen, anonymous dickheads on the internet that don't have a reason to do anything.

Canadian protests by real working folk are too benign though and I thinks that's his point. We go out, hold some signs then go home and watch Modern Family. Someone shows up with some edgy signs with an insult to Socks Mcfuckface's mom, and people come down on them. What got the attention of the feds, the FLQ bombed shit and murdered people, they meant business. I am not advocating for anything here, but the government doesn't take sign holding and bullhorn to seriously, even if 50k showed up at Trudeau's speech, it wouldn't hold any weight as it has no consequence if ignored.
I also think at this point in time, the best thing that could happen to keep the masses from going too far is for our provincial leaders to start wielding the tools they have. So far Ford is really the only one that has shown he'll go to the wall for his province against the Feds, well Horgan to but he and the Feds want the same outcome.

Although Maxt already pointed it out, it’s worth repeating for you tough guy. I’m betting the protests you’ve been to started at 10:00 and end at 2:30, just enough time to pretend you were at a real protest. Get back to me when you’ve been to multi day ones and I may reconsider. And as for being anonymous, that’s pretty hilarious considering my profile has more than enough information to identify me (including my first name) unlike you. Project much?
