Default Rap music? No problem! Old winter holiday song? Get that filth outta here!

    Fucking unreal

Of course, this is the exact hypocrisy I make fun of the left for all the time. One friend, who is a staunch NDP supporter/"feminist", has no problem admitting he kissed his wife (girlfriend at the time) the first time without permission, and yet actively supports this sort of bullshit.

Its fucking crazy. Who are these companies appealing to? Who actually believes this shit enough companies believe it will affect their bottom line?

You sure get worked up a lot by "the left" eh buddy?

Btw, you're not the only person who would love to see "rap music" banned. I'm not aware of many on "the left" that support that music either.

My own personal opinion, as a lover of jazz, when you do listen to the lyrics of that song, it is creepy as fuck, like Bill Cosby Howard Weinstein level creepy. It's a real shame because it is indeed an incredible song.

Are there other songs that we should ban on other genres of music? Definitely.

Just bored. You can tell how busy I am directly correlates to how much I post. Had too much time on my hands the past few days.

I do always enjoy how people equate passionate writing with "zomg he cares so much". I care enough to comment on it. This is the internet you know.

And equally hilarious, is this, because exactly, they are not creepy at all. NissanFanBoy's post highlights a distinctly higher amount of caring on the subject then I could ever muster

His relationships must be like in Demolition Man

The song should abruptly ends at "The answer is no"

Like rap music the song reflects reality... That some men *ahem* Buster, don't take no for an answer from women.

too lazy to go digging to find examples, but I know I have seen a LOT of interviews of old couples who have been married for like 50-60+ years or whatever and the woman relates with laughter how many times she told her husband "no" and he kept bugging her until she relented and finally said yes...

The lyrics are kinda creepy 2018 style, but we as a society have made them that way with the culture we are cultivating. Man, even 15-20 years ago, no one would have batted an eye.

Offence is taken, not given, and facts don't care about your feelings.

*edit* funny side note, our eldest daughter got super offended on my behalf one day when Baygirl was relating to her how Baygirl and I first met, and how she kissed me first without asking my permission. I now play along with it and act super offended whenever the situation comes up just so our daughter can give @baygirl the gears while I die laughing on the inside and try to keep a straight face.

”If we look at the text of the song, the woman gives plenty of indication that she wants to stay the night,” wrote Slay Belle for Persephone Magazine. “Her beau in his repeated refrain ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’ is offering her the excuses she needs to stay without guilt.” None of the woman’s lines indicate that she feels unsafe or is uninterested — they’re all concerned with societal expectations (even the “no” line expresses that she “ought” to say it). “Basically, the song only makes sense in the context of a society in which women are expected to reject men’s advances whether they actually want to or not,”
There... it’s actually a feminist song

Lol it's all good... Just debating...I suppose you're old enough to remember the actual movie it came from, I believe it's called Neptune's Daughter... Let me pick your brain a bit, how old is the daughter and how old is the creeper?

Drop the song: get to pretend like you care and maybe get some bonus points, and not have to pay licensing fees for a song that hasn't had a version in the Top 30 more than once in the past decade.

What's the downside? You lose support of the "But whatabout rap?! But whatabout this guy I know who kissed a girl without permission?! But whatabout..." market? Is that a target demographic for holiday music?

It's a pretty low-stakes gamble. If Bublé can't even have a version with staying power, people just don't care about the song enough for a company to really give a shit about playing it it. Taking it off means they get to play 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' a little bit more and sell better ad time because of it.

Sure. But people have an outsized reaction to the PC and sjw bullshit. It's such a burden on reasonable people that even small things start to add up.

And then you get yourself a president Trump.
