Never...gonna...happen.

Said it before. I'll say it again. Can't be done efficiently because we're land locked. If Northern BC, Cariboo, Chilcotin Coast wanted to join us, that'd be great, but let's not invite the lower mainland.
Not much difference shipping to ports in Washington and Oregon vs BC. Your argument is shit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
People are crazy. You don't separate when barrels of oil are $20, you separate when barrels of oil are $200.

We aren't changing the location of Alberta or the oceans one way or the other.

I think you are probably right. But that doesn't mean it's a bad idea - it means that people are locked in their way of thinking, are generally panzies and are trapped by nostalgia and useless patriotism. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We should simply invade BC.

Hahahaha..totally this!
BC lost an invasion against Chinese people with chequebooks. I'm not sure they would know how to handle an ACTUAL invasion. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If we separate, we can create our own constitution that requires all levels of AB government to meet basic intelligence requirements ...... LOL
Yeah. This is my thought exactly. We can't get a pipeline built with 1 approving party responsible. Imagine if we were a separate nation. We'd rely either on Canada anyways or would rely on the US.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I've got zero issues joining the USA.
Right now Alberta's negotiating leverage is zero. Or very close to zero. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With a constitutional crisis or separation, it is more than zero.
Maybe we should start talking to these guys https://www.sealandgov.org/
Agreed. When you look at some parts of the world (Qatar) that keep their money and revenues in house, its amazing how well they do. The bleeding has to stop somewhere for us.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Nothing will get through to Eastern Canada or the Federal Government, not even that. Refusing to supply anything to anyone in Canada would be a start, if your Prov. Gov't is going to keep going into debt why don't they just shut off every tap they can and subsidize the residents for 3 months to insulate them from the impact - call it a social program.

What? No, not really. Also, it's a very globalist attitude of you to say so :p The majority of people do not leave their home province/country. So I'm all for not catering to you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Compared to what? Alberta would be welcome with open arms anywhere USA or Canada is.and travelling freely a lot harder
Pretty sure Alberta has the highest % of monarchists, but at the same time, I think that would be up to England. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Plot twist, Alberta separates and creates NAFTA equivalent immediately with Britain and USA. We really only need the USA anyways as a major trading partner. All the other countries would line up at our door to get access to our natural resources.

Why would they agree to that? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Hell, with Britain's situation, we'd be pretty darn low on their negotiation list.
