I'm not sure about his definition of "retire".
It's a surprisingly tricky word for most people.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

That ol' JD needs to be re-tired roughly every 4 seasons based on tread wear and workload.

BC is ok, people like Jess will fill in the vacancies.

So people are leaving AB due to lack of jobs and BC/ON due to housing affordability. Where are they going? SK? QC? Maritimes?
I hope someone told Jess things were even more locked down in BC.

Are you saying there's no tread left on the tires?
So it's pretty much like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

The missing piece is that Albertans have to stop blaming federal politicians for our current mickey mouse country, and start blaming their fellow citizens in Ontario/Quebec/Atlantic. Once they realize that Trudeau et al are just a manifestation of the attitudes of the populace in those provinces, then maybe we will see some change.

Well technically their politicians are just the manifestation of that populace’s attitudes so really, kind of one and the same no? I am not disagreeing overall though…

The politicians are just an emergent phenomenon of the populace. If you can convince Albertans that people in ontario basically look and act like Trudeau, you might start to gain some traction. Trudeau is the symptom not the disease.

Judging from the commentary from small-minded young adults on Reddit, our fellow citizens in the West are soon going to be just as naïve and red/orange.

Regardless of that fact, we again have a party who didn't win the most votes yet won more seats.
Why the fuck do we have a system where 800k voters chose People's party and get ZERO voice in the end?
Conversely 300k voters vote green and get 2 seats.

Winning the most sets with not the most votes is a pretty common thing, and not an accident. It's designed to spread representation around the country.

It's because people like Michelle Rempel and John Barlow win by like 25,000+ votes while many Liberal MP's win by small margins. The popular vote isn't going to fix this system.
Stripping seats away from tiny, bullshit ridings is a better step in the right direction. PEI, for a start.

You are missing the point entirely.

The system is designed to ensure that the will of Ontario and Quebec dominates the country.

Pretty sure the 905 in the GTA has 30+ seats for ~3.5 million people too.... so it's not actually that spread out.

Is there anyone in the UCP that is a supporter of separating?

Seems like this is an ideal time to put someone in favour of separation in charge if Kenney is ousted. We are under a month away from the referendum and there is zero talk about it (not that really has much to do with separation, but I can see it being an indicator of support for the concept).
