OEM Remote Car Starter for 2015 Toyota Highlander

Does anyone have any experience with the following product in Calgary.

I just bought a 2015 Toyota highlander and looking to add a remote car starter but don't want to add an extra key FOb . I came across the product below and wondering if anyone on here has ever installed it and if so your thoughts and where you got it done. Apparently this uses the OEM Key Fob.

I used these guy for the kit for my Tacoma and couldn't be happier. Got great after sales service when I had an issue and they even sent me an updated module when mine had an issue 2 months after installing it.

Only downside to these kits is the factory key fob doesn't have the best range so you've got to be close to the vehicle to start it. But I liked not having to carry a separate fob for the remote start. They also make 2 different kits depending if you have the push button start or not.

Thanks that exactly what I am looking for, I am ok with the short range more trying to avoid the extra key FOB. Mine is a push button start. Sounds like you installed it yourself. If so how easy or complicated was it?

I had it installed in about 20 minutes. hardest part was getting the odb2 port out of the panel. They really provide great instructions and support. Might not be as cheap as an ebay kit but the quality of their harness and everything was great.

Ya no worries. It really was plug and play with easy instructions. I don't have a referral code or anything so I'm not making anything off of this.

I will watch the video and maybe pay or buy someone a case of beer to install. I hate messing with stuff like that...lol.

You could always go aftermarket and get 3X lock. so you keep your oem Fob, and also get aftermarket remotes for when you decided factory keyless range sucks..

Oh I never knew that was possible. I thought you had to carry the aftermarket FOB with you all the time. The 12 volt solution that was suggested earlier also seem to have a smart phone capability as well. Got to which one works best. An after market like Compustar or the 1 volt with the smart phone option.

do you want to pay a monthly fee for the smart phone option? its around ~$10 a month.. I would get Compustar > Viper .. Viper has a new "DS4" brain that allows you to use bluetooth as well. (but its pretty spotty)

sounds like they are using a "MY CAR", if you get the 1yr free.. No first hand experience with the my car, besides looking at the instructions. Likes like a decent unit, that offers support for all the major brands (Compustar,Viper,Idata and Fortin)

Looking to have a remote starter installed in the wife's 2019 Rav4 with push button start and came across 12volt.solutions online as well. Looking for some longer term feedback, I like the idea of a plug and play system where you don't have to cut or splice into the wiring.

If I wanted a starter, I'd call Autotech and chat with them about options.
