Default December’s “Post your latest picture” Thread.

December is Christmas, here is a cool shot I took of the Rockefeller Centre all lit up during my recent trip to NYC

Went out to try and get some shots of the meteor shower on Thursday night. Great conditions for it, aside from the 100+ kph winds. Made it rather difficult to get pictures, when the tripod will tip over the moment I stop putting all my weight over it. Sadly don't think I captured any meteors on camera, but did see a bunch at least.

Where did you head out to? I'd love to get out of the city and do some astrophotography again. It's been years.

Made a big switch from my Canon 70D to the Sony A7iii. Initially picked up just the kit lens but then I immediately wanted the wide angle 16-35.. It just lined up perfectly that I found an awesome deal on one on Kijiji from someone who just happened to be a pretty awesome photog on IG with some mutual friends so that was great to buy from used atleast!!

Allen Bill pond. Or I guess they just call it Allen Bill now that the pond is gone?
With highway 66 being closed a bit further west since Dec 1st, it's usually where I go in winter for capturing the night sky. Not too far, nice and open area so your view of the sky isn't blocked. Decent spot for the northern lights as well.

Saw a bunch of the shooting stars, sometimes would be up to 3-4 within a couple seconds. With usually a minute or two between each one/series. Was actually kind of impressive how perfectly I managed to not get any of them in the shots.

No, I'm talking about the comet, not the meteor shower.

Finally upgraded to a scanner that doesn't make my 4x5 negatives look like shit.

Yep, picked up a lightweight Chamonix body specifically for the trip. No way in hell was I going to lug my Cambo around, haha.
