Never in the room so don’t need a fancy hotel room.

PH for cheap eats at the earl (breakfast or lunch or middle of the night) and great central location.
    Flamingo for the awesome pool.

I just felt the atmosphere in general was much more lively. As you moved to other hotels the vibe became less.

Just my personal experience, I prefer high energy.

Nothing to do with restaurants, or entertainment, just the general atmosphere, the people.
I hear you. That's why I normally just stay at MGM.

After staying at Aria, I wouldn’t recommend it, just seemed too far from the action. Next year I will go back to Caesars.
Seems like the most vibrant hotels are Bellagio and Caesar’s, the rest are just kind of meh.
Damn, I was torn between Aria and Caesar's but thought I'd spend the extra bit to go 5 star. I'm kicking myself for not booking Venetian when it was $400 less per person in Nov/Dec. How are the pools at Aria? That's one of the main things we go for. So far our favorite pool has been MGM with the lazy river. Not big into gambling, pretty much just roam around drinking, eating, and shopping (mostly window shopping). The helicopter ride over the strip at night sounds appealing, any experiences with this?

I would consider both hotels to be 5 stars.

Nothing special about Aria, other then it’s newer.

Caesars still feels much more grand IMO.

I would never step foot in any pool in Las Vegas, haha

All these new boutique hotels have zero character it seems.

I know, as with any public pool it's more urine than anything. We mostly go to sleep off the hangover and/or breakfast beers in the sun, but sometimes booze takes over and we end up in the pool regardless. No rashes yet

Can't beat the Wynn imo. Yeah, it's a little ways down the strip but 15 minute walk and your right in the action. Pool is also very nice, can shoot craps or play blackjack by the pool.

Cleanest casino on the strip I would say. XS, Surrender and Encore beach club right on hotel property. Tons of good dining options, shopping..

Do you think they are any worse than hotel polls elsewhere in the world?

I wouldn’t step foot in any pool, anywhere.

But I imagine there are a little more bodily fluids floating around in Vegas pools over others.

Is that where they have that little 3 foot tub of a craps table? I saw someone post this online once, and I wanted to find it. Seems like you could just set dice and run a martingale on hi/lo and get rich playing that table. Something in my memory makes me think this tiny table was down at the old strip though.

Agreed, last time I was at one I overheard a couple nearby talking about how one of them peed 'over there' and the other responded with "I'm peeing right now". The people on the stools at the swim up bars only leave when they're done drinking. Still, a lot more drunk people in Vegas pools, though I suppose the urine is at least more diluted, but that doesn't really sweeten the deal.

I love Aria. That's pretty much my go to place to stay. Their suites are nice and roomy, living room, dining room, bar, bedroom, steam shower and not brutally expensive at $260/night. 5 min walk to T-Mobile for VGK games as well, and pretty easy walk to Bellagio.

I absolutely hate the rooms at Belagio. Stayed twice, never booked again. Feel like fucking cattle there as well. With that said, it's my mostly go-to place for food.

No love for Cosmo? I liked it better than Aria personally. could also be due to the fact Aria was with my wife and twice at Cosmo was bachelor parties

Either way cosmo balcony room with bellagio fountain view is pretty sweet. I know you don't spend a lot of time in rooms but it's nice to be able to step outside onto the balcony to smoke or enjoy the night breeze.

Dang! How do you get the Aria penthouse suites for only $260 a night?

Even though we stayed at Aria last, we spent most of our time in the Cosmo. I love that place's vibe personally. Also, other buddy on the trip had a suite there with a balcony. Not many balconies in Vegas, this one had a sweet view of the Bellagio fountain show and 12 people could hang out on it no problem. Bigger plus than I would have thought!

The last thing I’m doing is hanging out in my room haha, I’m usually up at 7:00am, our the door by 8:00am and not back till 4:00am

I don’t go to Vegas to stay in a hotel room. No thanks.

That being said, I want to stay somewhere nice so my surroundings are enjoyable.

Even Cosmo was so subdued compared to Caesars. But every person experiences something different.

I like to be around people, I like to meet people, talk to people, I’m a people person haha.

It's not a penthouse suite, just checked my reservation, it's their Corner Tower Suite. Just a suite in the private towers with the secret check-in/check-out desk. $264 x 5 nights plus the silly tax and resort fees.

Pretty sure that's regular price, but maybe it's M Life discounted rate.

My wife and I are big time night owls yet in Vegas we can seldom make it to midnight, so much freakin' walking maybe, and I'm sure gorging ourselves on booze and high octane food is a factor. Solid sack time is a must, we're only in a hotel at most once a year so we enjoy the room part of the vacation too. Definitely no Aria suite for us, we's in one of the ghetto $130/night rooms. Last time at Monte Carlo we were offered a room 'upgrade' for an extra $10/night (just to be in a newly reno'd room) and it was awful compared to the previous stay there. Are those last minute upgrades at check in typically worth it to you guys?

I just do the sandwich trick, and it's hit or miss. If there is something good available I get it. But I've tried when the only upgrade they had was with 2 queen beds, so we didn't take it.

Well this doesn't bode well for that at the Aria

I think in general, if you look and act nice to the concierge and politely ask them for an upgrade, they will give you one if they are available. As a nice gesture afterwards, give them tip but you do have to do that discretely as they probably won't want the cameras to pick it up. I've asked nicely at Vdara and they upgraded me to corner executive suite on high floor.

It will generally work at most hotels that are not very full. Aria, Encore, Palazzo usually do not have the availability because they keep a percentage of their nice rooms just in case some VIP guests do show up last minute.
