    Default Parking in downtown

I've never parked DT for the whole day so this is pretty new to me.

Does anyone know of cheap (<$200/m) parking in downtown ideally around 6 ave and center street?

Next level up (~$250/m), I do see signs for $10/day but do wonder if these lots get full quick - I get in around ~830am.

    Thoughts?

How much are you into exercise? Lol... You can park one block up from the centre St bridge and walk in... It's a 3 hour zone I believe but they never come unless someone calls and complains... I'm sure there are unrestricted spots too. I work in the East side of DT and just park in Bridgeland, my doctor was very impressed I do a total of 25-30 walking a day. I also save a shitload on parking.

Car2go! Park as close as you can with free street parking... and swap cars. Or if you live in the car2go zone... just take it from home

I’m guessing you’re one of the new people moving into the Bow? Nothing really to add, there’s no parking at the Bow after like 7:30-7:45 unless you have a pass. I know people that found cheap parking on the west end and take the train to Center Street.

You're not going to find <$200 parking in downtown. Surface lots start in around 200-250 on the very edges of downtown, basically anywhere near C-Train. Sub $200 gets you (if you're lucky) surface lots in beltline nowhere near LRT. Our building's underground heated parking is fairly reasonable for price, $400-$500 depending on what level you're on, and sits right on the LRT line, a block away from a +15 entrance.

You can definitely get what you're looking for if you hop in your time machine every morning and go to work in 1985 downtown Calgary.

300 is pretty much bare minimum in the core, and it’s much more if you want heated and covered.

Welcome to downtown Calgary, and our wonderful city planners limiting the amount of parking available downtown.

8:30am start and downtown core parking is not happening for anywhere near $200/mo unfortunately.

    Most office buildings are $500-700/mo.

The Bow used to be the cheapest at $17/day but it fills up super early (7:30 or so) and they raised the price recently.

If you work on the far West end of DT you can get away with a short walk from one of the Beltline surface gravel lots.

The train is free to ride in the core, so if you can find a lot near either end you can hop the train in, but expect regular 20-30+ min delays in the winter where it might be faster just to walk.

When I lived in the Beltline some people would rent their second parking spots for $125/mo or so, but it's still a 30 minute commute from there into the core.

Some people just park at Impark every day and throw out the tickets since you don't need to pay them, but you might get towed every once in a while.

I know some people who park in the CPA lots that scan your license plate when you leave... They just pay for 15 mins of parking before they leave. Not sure if they are still doing this though.

I think the Bow at $425 a month is pretty close to as cheap as it gets downtown for heated underground.

Those lots scan you on the way in as well now. So no this trick doesn't work. Although the ticket cost is only $40, so barely more than paying for parking.

That's a great price if it's reserved. With OP going in at 8:30am definitely need reserved.

There was rooftop parking near the Calgary Tower that was around $200 last time I looked. If you're willing to walk a bit then Calgary Place is around $220/mth. I'm at Pacific Place and pay $230 on a special promo price. Call Indigo and see if that's still available.

The $50/mth parking next to Sunalta station is still around too.

West end on 9th Ave and 8th St. SW, Continental Towers is $194 a month covered parking non reserved. I think reserved is around $230.

As far as I know, that Indigo lot has a waitlist. Early bird (before 9 am) is $11 / day.

I pay $250/mo across from The Bow in above ground non-heated parkade (Rocky Mtn Court)
Comes with drawbacks tho: steep ramps and knife fights
