I wouldn’t even expect a discount but obviously would use it as a bargaining tool. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I just don’t see it as a factor as long as it’s cleaned up properly and was a targeted attack. If it was a random attack I’d question the safety of the area so probably wouldn’t live there or near there
We were looking for houses in Riverbend and wife made me pass on more than one nice house with a history of suicide or otherwise. Makes no sense to me, but she knows the history and I guess it hits closer to home since she grew up around there. Me? I thought they were nice places...
I voted yes. But decided if this house was infamous then no.
Discount of 80% off though?!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Granted the market was better in 2014 I'm surprised it sold for that much seeing it holds the distinction of housing Calgary's worst mass murder. Everyone in the neighborhood knows it and good luck getting close to $425 in today's market with that distinction. I'm sure the buyer didn't give a crap (could be using it as a rental) and is only interested in getting a house at a discounted price but they should have tried harder to get a better price. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. You know you probably grew up in hand me down clothes... other kids shit their pants in them before you got them. Then you tell me you can't live in a house because it seems used?!
Your gf probably wasn't a virgin either.

I would absolutely buy only brand new cars if I had the cash. Houses, I look at differently. The process of home building that my friends have described sounds awful, and I'd pay more to avoid it.
That and I dislike new neighborhoods.

That place in Bonavista where the guy killed his family seems to be for sale every 2 years or so.
Wouldn’t bother me but The wife would say no way.

People have short memories. There's a house in Dalhousie with a family murder / suicide. In 10 more years no one will be the wiser. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But agreed, people die in their house all the time. I've looked at many grandparent houses and for sure it's either they ded or they went to a home.
As well, everyone stays in hotels and the cleaning staff basically try to make the bed look like someone hasn't been banging in it 8 hour earlier.
(Some stand up comedian had a good set regarding this but I forget who).
