Benefits are available, so I thought why not fix up my smile finally. After talking to a couple dentists and orthodontists, I gave everyone’s favourite beastmobiler a call to see if we could get my teeth to look less like a picket fence.

Invisalign was a topic of discussion, but Jeff highlighted that it would likely take longer, and still wouldn’t provide as good of results as brackets. Given that I don’t have much to deal with for jaw issues, the plan is to get rid of the gaps in the top, and fix the crowding from the bottom (thanks wisdom teeth).

We went with clear brackets on the top, might do some on the bottom in the new year as I didn’t expect the bottoms to be so visible. Surprisingly no pain so far, will see what happens when I get the bigger wires put in. The team at friends and family were helpful, and worked with me on all the various steps required to get a bunch of metal thrown in your mouth. The game plan is 12 to 18 months to sort it all out, so I will keep updating this thread as I go. Feel free to post any questions if you have them.
