Would love to hear your experience living with Magno paint in Calgary, especially thru winter.

There might be reasons why the AMG engineers would recommend a worse break-in than other options. I just can't think of what those reasons might be.
I think that even if all manufacturers know that hard break-in is better than a soft one, they legally couldn't put that in the owner's manual.

Imagine what would happen if the manual said something like: as soon as you leave the lot you should do 10-15 redline pulls once oil is warm. Huge liability once the general public started crashing all over the place.

The GT350 has the best break in procedure I’ve seen yet:

    BREAKING-IN

Your vehicle requires a break-in period. Drive your new vehicle at least 100 mi (160 km) before performing extended wide open throttle maneuvers and at least 1,000 mi (1,600 km) before performance or competition conditions.

Note: Vary your speed frequently in order to give the moving parts a chance to break in.
I’ve spoken to Ford Performance too, and they said just don’t hold WOT too long prior to 100 miles. Didn’t specify, and neither does the manual. All I know is - according to the manual - it’s fair game high rpm and WOT after only 160kms.

At 1600, it’s balls out track use. Nice.

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

The 100 miles is likely to break in the other components like the tranny, diff, etc and not the engine itself.

Lease vehicle? What's this break-in you speak of?

The site is misleading. It says E63 once, but all the data is for the C63. Doesn't look like the beta includes the E63.
