I think flood problems from too quick of a melt will be a big problem, then we'll move on to fires, happy mediums are for pussies.

Project #1. Sit on patio drinking beer while watching the snow die.
My project has been pushing the glacier that is my alley further into the sun every day so I can have a hope of getting my car out before June.

I've been lucky. My alley is E/W facing so it gets a ton of sun and there is enough melted I can get my bike out of the garage. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I need to put insurance back on the M5, I never shoveled the driveway all winter and now it and the road are clear already.
Half the alley is melted, but the shady portion is 3-4 inches of solid ice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ours is 50% ice, 50% ruts. Fun in the Jeep, less so in lowered wagon. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

did that yesterday so i could open the gate and get the bike out
Next house is definitely having a front driveway I can control...

Driveway is clear, residential road is clear, had the convertible out already, and planning on getting the bike out this week, just been too busy to actually ride.

This weather has been awesome. I'm still going to keep the car in the garage for another 3-4 weeks probably. Ideally until streets have been swept, but idk if I'll have the patience, depending on when that happens.
I'm tempted to swap this weekend, the winters are feeling doughy in these temperatures. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'd wait until the overnight lows are consistently above 0. Lots of ice on the AM roads still and the ground is frozen. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Mornings are still foretasted in the 0 to -3 range all the way until the end of the month and that is much too cold for summers - I'd wait at least another 2 weeks and reassess. There is a bit of snow forecast for Sunday too with will probably mean an icy Monday morning. Since I drive every morning I usually don't swap until around May. Depends on the tire but you want it to be consistently above roughly 7C or so before you take off the winters.

Yeah, I guess I'm kinda chomping at the bit here, tough not to on a day like this.
