idk why someone would drive a huracan in the winter, but props to that guy either way. That's awesome. If I had an unlimited winter beater budget, it'd probably be a 911 turbo S, panamera turbo S... maaaaybe a urus. Huracan just doesn't compute.

This has been a crazy year for weather. Hawaii got several inches of snow (Haleakala) yesterday and 190+ MPH winds recorded on the big island (Mauna Kea).

I always prefer the extreme cold to any snow whatsoever, but I am pretty ready for this cold snap to end. Looking out as far as Feb 21 there is no end in sight. 2" of snow in the forecast for Friday, thankfully it's before a weekend and not a commute day.

Just to be anal. Decimation means one out of ten, not nine out of ten. Nine out of ten is a slaughter.

Saw this guy a couple times driving around DT yesterday. Nice looking car in person.
I agree they look way better in person than in the pics. One I saw was a dark color as well so not sure if that helps.

I saw this driving as well and wondered why? Only conclusion is that he spent everything on the car and can't afford a winter beater.

Or he is rich enough to not gaf about resale and just does what he wants?

I see driving a supercar in shot weather as a symbol of true wealth. Buddy who can’t afford his huracan and is majorly concerned about TCO is the one who refuses to drive in the rain.

Yeah that's kinda what I was getting at though... if you have unlimited budget, there are a lot better supercar choices for winter driving than that one. The porsches I mentioned, or even a ferrari FF, or GTC4lusso. Or Bentley Continental GT. There's so many more cars I'd rather drive in the winter.

Some people are so rich that could very well have been his winter beater. For some people, driving a $300K car in the winter would be the equivalent of you or I driving a $300 car in the winter. I used to work for a billionaire (owned the company I worked for at the time) and they did similar things seemingly just because they could.

Could have just been doing it for the lulz as well because money doesn't even really matter after a certain point.

I think along this wavelength as well.

I think my ideal winter beater would be a Macan GTS, ground clearance, nimble, not overly large, AWD, fun as hell.

Ground clearance is overrated, at least in Calgary. I’ve only driven in an area where I was worried about clearance in any of my cars because of deep ruts maybe 3x in the past decade.

Some neighborhoods can get really bad, they don't plow them because it would eliminate all the street parking people rely on. What happens is if we don't get a big melt, the ruts keep getting bigger and bigger every time it snows, thaws into deep slush, and freezes again until they are easily 4-6" of pure ice. In my area anyway they can get pretty ridiculous because it's never plowed. The ruts are so big they basically steer for you, and you just kind of hope none of them are higher than your ground clearance haha.

Main roads though I don't think I've ever had an issue in my entire life with ground clearance, and I used to drive a lowered vehicle.

Highly unlikely that lambo owner lives in a neighborhood that looks like mine so I doubt it's an issue

If you have an alley it can be a serious issue. Roads themselves I would agree.

Last year my ruts were so bad my C couldn’t get out let alone something lower.

    Agreed with Mitsu.
My old neighborhood was AWFUl for ruts in the winter.

My S4 and STI would scrape like no tomorrow.
Hence why I personally prefer some ground clearance.

The owner also has an Aventador which he drives regularly in the summer, so that theory is out the window.

I don't know, still seems ridiculous to drive something that would be such a horrid pain in the ass to deal with day to day in the winter, just for the sake of being able to go "Look at me, look at me, I'm rich bitch!" How insecure do you have to be for that to happen?

Or maybe he just felt like driving it that day? I'm sure he's got more than one vehicle for winter driving. The amount of times I used to get the massive itch to drive my "summer car" in February, but I couldn't afford to get the paint all shitty, and didn't like the idea of salt on the undercarriage either.

So how much snow do you think we'll see for the long weekend? Weather network says 20cm+, weather underground says <1cm, only a slight difference there
