Nice little flash storm. So much thunder and heavy heavy rain in the SW.

Yea there was definitely more C-G type lighting with this one. Most of the storms just brew internally.

3 minutes of hell in high river. Started with lightning hitting the transformer behind my place. Then flooding the alley, and a lovely coating of marble sized hail.

    Back to sunny and nice.

Some huge loud thunder in McKenzie Lake. Then tons of sirens. House in Douglasdale hit and on file, 2 accidents on Deerfoot, 1 in Cranston. Busy time for CFD

Is that was that was? That was my guess too as the sirens started blaring not too long after a big hit in that area.

Did not expect a storm tonight, chilling at a friends in Bankview as I’m a bit scared to drive home in my car...

That was intense! Didn't last too long though, hail was quite small as well.

My wife and I watched this on the back deck in the SW for a bit. Was still warm and calm out, could barely hear the thunder but the whole sky was lighting up.

Around 1:30am we had some ridiculous thunder/lightning/rain, woke both of us up. I don't think any hail though.

I drove through the center of it near Cremona on the way home last night. Both my little kids were trying to sleep and were absolutely freaking out from the intense rain and lightning. I half expected to see the silhouette of a monster tornado like the movie Twister. Lol (I kept that to myself)

Damn, looks like the roof of my car is dented from the hail last night. Is Tomco still around?

Gonna have to check my truck after cleaning it. We still have piles of hail melting in the NW this morning.

I was in Sage hill. I was driving towards the gas station to fill up before heading home.
The whole sky kept lighting up. It was one hell of a sight as it just kept on happening. Then as I jetted down Deerfoot I could still see in my rearview mirror the sky lighting up.

Calgary is getting a new weather radar which apparently is going to take 5 months to be installed. It started mid July and the install complete date is stated for December 6th. Why is the govt so slow to install what many would prob consider a crucial service.
