Default OFFICIAL 2019 Extreme Weather Thread

    Dat wind tho.

Dangerous wind gusts causing widespread damage are expected or occurring.

Strong westerly winds will increase in strength tonight.

The southwestern Foothills will see the strongest winds, with gusts between 120 and 150 km/h expected by Thursday morning.

Farther north, in Kananaskis Country gusts to 100 km/h are expected. In Nordegg, gusts to 90 km/h are likely, and finally, in areas from Lethbridge to the Cypress Hills, wind gusts to 100 km/h are likely.

The winds will diminish by Friday morning.

    ###

Buildings under construction risk extreme damage. High winds may cause downed trees or toss loose objects. Drivers may lose control of their vehicles; tall vehicles are at high risk of being overturned.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ABStorm.

Thanks Frankie, you forgot to put "Official" in your title...

Nice work on starting the 2019 thread. Agree it should have "OFFICIAL" in the title. Wind was loud overnight for me, but doubt anything was damaging here in the inner city.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

My buddy in Sage Hill said his bins were blown across the cul-de-sac. Barely a breeze this morning for me.

    Haha, thread title edited.

All the bins were blown over and the house was shaking in the North. Patio furniture all over the back yard. Thought my glass panes on the deck railings were going to break.
Never experienced anything like it before.

Windy as shit in the North last night for sure. At least this time my smoker didn't get blown over.

Wind gusts just over 160kph down near Blairmore today, that's just nuts. Supposed 80kph gusts here tomorrow.
    Will fuck off, again.

Wind was pretty crazy between Calgary and Canmore a couple hours ago. My 7250lb truck was being blown around like crazy. You could see the fear in the eyes of gas truck owners towing trailers...

Anyone heading out west this weekend? Looks like Rogers got a massive amount of snow.

Sunshine had 41cm since Wednesday night and it’s real good today. Still puking too. Line up of traffic to Lak Lois was insane at the Sunshine turn off.
