Still on my summers, drove around all day without problem today
Pirelli P Zeros are the worst tires I’ve owned in anything under 5C. Undrivable. PS4s would’ve been ok today, P Zeros we’re sliding everywhere and it’s just wet.
The wagon with AS3+ are great. Surprisingly good in the dry for an all season and tackles light snow no probs. Could be a decent summer tire to stretch use before swapping to winters.

I drove an entire winter in a '05 Mustang GT in P-zero Nero' s, and they weren't THAT bad. Definitely not good though.
Hauled a couple cars up to Edmonton, didn’t have any issues this afternoon/evening.
Already at 11cm here in legacy and the forecast says it hasn’t even really started yet. What was gonna be 5cm accumulation for Calgary now upgraded to 15-25 cm.

Yea I didn’t have any issues driving around late last night.
Gave the truck a few brake tests on typical trouble spots and couldn’t really upset it which was nice. Really impressed.
But then again, it also wasn’t exactly cold out at all.

Geezus .. lol
I also wish people quit making the correlation that if snow is falling.. that its winter.
If anyone been west of the city towards canmore let me know how the main highways are. Have a guest in from out of town that's headed that way and want to know how much to warn her about the roads. She does not have the Canadian driving experience.....

Doing my own research it looks rough at dead man's flats according to the webcams.

Single lane after you actually reach the mountains. Plows out,. Dead man's flats was the scariest spot.
Was driving a sienna se fwd with Winters and had no problems, average speed in mountains was 70 maybe with highs of 90 and a cube van that was doing 40 and taking up 1.4 lanes .
Lots of rental cars on the road which were the scariest of drivers
Well, gave my friend the tip about driving slow near Lac des arc. She's in a rental, so the locals can curse her.

Sigh...I guess I'll have to flip my wife's tires today. Then have to flip them back in a few days.

The summers, especially the run flat version is a stiff hockey puck that can’t handle anything at all at low temps even if it’s just wet. It sucks in the dry too, they need to get really hot to get any meaningful grip. My g meters show that the wagon has as much lateral acceleration in the summer on AS3+ than the p zeros on a typical Calgary summer 20s day. I’ve locked them up under hard braking in 20C dry weather driving hard. Such a piece of shit and completely unusable on a day like today.
I’ve ran PSS in worse sudden winter situations with no problems.

Well shit. About to drive home from Banff.
If we are having tyre discussions, I'm really happy with my fleet of options for this kind of weather. Today I picked the General Altimax RT43 and they were perfect. Basically a good touring rain tyre, which is precisely what you want today.

I may have to throw chains on the truck to plow...have over a foot and half so far and when it compresses, it’s super slick!
Why would you flip them back? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Just drove to fish creek and back. Roads were not bad at all, other drivers however were terrible.
