Needed an Uber to downtown from the airport early this morning. It was hilarious watching the driver trying to come and then cancel midway. Happened a couple times before a driver finally arrived, and I doubt they were pleased they had to go all the way DT lol. Tipped him accordingly for the trouble.

Shaganappi, coming down the hill from Edgemont was extremely icy and slippery this evening even with Nokian Hakkapilita’s. The commute tomorrow is going to be fun!

Studs aren’t helping you driving through the slurpee tomorrow. If anything, I think performance winters are probably the best bet in these conditions.

Came back from Castrol with my car and a friends BRZ in the trailer and didn’t have any issues, slowed down a bit near Crossfield as I could tell the surface was changing but not a single oh shit moment and only a bit of wheelspin in 2wd going up Country Hills by Shag. Went north to Symons Valley RV storage to drop off the trailer around 8:30 and it was complete whiteout. Had a oh shit moment pulling my trailer into its spot when the truck spun and dug in 4x4 but it turned out ok.

The CHB hill @ Shag was a parking lot around 9pm this evening... About 10 cars stuck on this section and another 10 at the lower section down the hill from the Co-op. Cars started sliding backwards so I turned around at the middle median that goes into Edgemont, back down, and went up the back way past the Hampton's golf course..

Airdrie to DT checking in... some icy spots on DF but nothing crazy. The only thing crazy were people flying down over the speed limit still. I'm assuming these are the same people in life who also don't plan for anything unexpected (such as an icy stretch) and just YOLO it.

8 st out of Airdrie was black ice, and people going like 20 k/hr cause they didn’t switch was a bit frustrating. Added ~5-10 to my commute

Just drove in from the West end. Bow trail and everything was fine. Just seemed a little wet.

Highwood to UofC and back just now, 4wd Suburban in 2wd 50% Duratracs. No big deal but I can see residential and especially hills being a big deal for a lot of people. Going to Crossfield soon, probably back roads to avoid Deerfoot/#2 lunacy.

Coventry Hills to Heritage Drive took me about 45 minutes this morning (usually about 20 minutes). Deerfoot was fine as everyone was going a steady. but slower pace. Couple of cars in the ditch, but nothing major. I haven't switched to my winter yet, so I'm on Michelin AS3+ with awd.

Relevant traffic camera for centre street just south of 16th. Looks normal.

Crowchild northbound from Glenmore wasn't plowed. Lots of snow on the road early this morning. I can see it backing up severely for the morning rush.

Just took my kid to school in Coventry here. Roads are snow/slush covered. Truck didn't even notice and running my summer setup still with K02s. Waiting till late October to put on my winters.

Threw the winters on last week, since I don't have a spare set of wheels yet. Drive in this morning was fine, maybe 5-10min longer. I'll just keep driving the summer car on nicer days.
