Ah ok. Nope I'm not moving, gonna need major renos before I can contemplate that! Next time I'm gonna do more homework, especially on realtors and keep my eagerness in check. For the time being I have a roof over my head.
don't sweat it too much...You're not the only one in your situation. my townhouse has dropped quite a bit in value too compared to what i paid for it in 2015. You're OK as long as you don't have to sell.

Jesus Christ. So, if your assessment is almost 40k less than the balance of your mortgage and you gotta refinance next year, for a lack of a better term, are you fucked?
That number is usually for buyers to use to lowball you.

That said, that's is still not a good situation to be in. I know quite a few apartments got 20% off on assessment in 2019 vs 2018. Refinance with another firm may trigger reappraisal.

I was quite curious how my place would turn out.. took possession July 21st, so it should have been a fairly accurate assessment of price. City estimated $55k higher, but thats likely within the cities acceptance range.

    Up 3% in Aspen Woods.
Still, no chance in hell of selling for our assessed value.
    EDIT

Interesting. Mine went down 4.8%. I thought it was $40K down, but it was more. Hopefully my tax bill drops!

This is my first year in my house. If I login on the City website can I see past assessment values? I cannot recall the last assessment when I bought in the spring.

Monthly payment up 14.6%, I think it's the largest increase we've ever seen and probably due to all the new infill/duplex development that going on in our community. Prices for knock downs are north of $500,000 now, guess I'm living in a knockdown as well as all of my neighbors.
    Will fuck off, again.

Nenshi thanks you for your contribution to his pension.

Mine hasn't shown up yet. But it'll be in the same range.
