Shee-it. They even split one into four. How strong are they nowadays? I really have to stop grabbing gummy bears by the handful like popcorn.

How is this any different than some kids taking prescription pills or too much Tylenol or something? Seems like a story for the sake of a story.

It is different, in that prescription pills are way more dangerous

Gummies? Jesus, just sleep it off.

Scary stuff, they are lucky they didn't die from a marijuana overdose.
Edit: Apparently this wasn't painfully obvious as sarcasm. It's sarcasm.

Prescription pills have a "child resistant" lid, and aren't made into candy.

Its no different from a hard lemonade or cider though.

Good case for legalizing edibles ASAP. These edibles were obviously bought illegally.

Legal rec. Cannabis is required by law to come in child resistant packaging

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I've never met a teenager who didn't know how to open a pill bottle - I definitely knew how by the time I was a teenager. I imagine lots of adults leave their meds out in the those M-F pill sorters as well that have zero security. I wouldn't be surprised if these kids knew exactly what they were eating haha.

Well the thing is prescription pills might actually kill you. Edibles? Yeah not so much.

"When opiates bind there, they depress neural activity in the part of your brain that unconsciously regulates breathing and heart rate. So if you pass out, you stop breathing and your heart stops beating. There's no cannabinoid receptors in those brain regions in humans, so you can't physically overdose to a fatal level."
People need to calm down and educate themselves. There's no need to go to the emergency for something that's not going to be fatal in the first place.

Most of these edibles are pretty damn strong. The chocolates my wife uses, she has to split these tiny things into 6 smaller pieces. Even just a half of one would fuck her right up. Would've been funny to see how tripping those little kids were.

It would have to be north of 500mg if it was split 4 ways... only way I see that happening is if it was a poorly mixed batch and there was inconsistencies between bears... which is the issue with the gov dragging their feet on setting legislation on edibles

You can buy prescription edibles, just not recreational ones. I've had some of these gummies. Pretty damn strong, but going to the hospital is a massive overreaction.

You most certainly cannot. Dispensaries might masquerade as proper “medical” avenues, but are still operating in the grey market. The only legal medical sources are the licensed producers who may only sell dry flower and infused oil

Haha agree with ercchy there. The strongest candy I had so far was down in Denver. Estimated 114mg of THC and 11mg of CBD per each of these sour lemon candies. They were damn good, definitely made you super tired but tripping or not functional... some major over reactions or comments from those who I feel haven't tried.

Going to disagree with you guys here. Edibles can be quite overwhelming for people that don't have experience with them. Even something as low as 40mg can really mess people up if htey don't have a tolerance/experience with them. Yes the effects will pass with some time/sleep, but good luck telling that to someone who has no experience and eats a 250mg brownie and is tripping balls. Certainly not out of the question to be hospitalized especially if they are young kids/lower body weight and eat large quantities of THC.

don't get me wrong, i'm a huge advocate of the industry but i really think its counterproductive to brush these things off like nothing. It's a real issue.

I don’t think I would categorize napping for 36hrs as a “real issue” ...hell, pounding a 26oz bottle of booze and having to get your stomach pumped is more of a “real issue” ...but most of us survived high school either way
