Telus is offering 20gigs for $85 BYOD right now (plus the usual phone stuff)
Are family plans still a thing? Our contract with Bell is almost up and I did a quick search I do not see any more family plans with the big 3 providers.
I think your data is generally shareable on Telus unless you are on a peace of mind plan ( the pseudo unlimited data plans ).This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I wouldn't be surprised if they did get rid of them. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With family plans you end up paying more for less. Example: $150 for 5gb of shared data for 3 people where you could easily get the same 5gb of data for each person for $40 based on a quick browse of this thread.

What is the specific benefit you are looking for / getting from a family plan now vs individual plans? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If you have no aversion to saving money, you can do better than a family plan from the big three with individual plans from Public Mobile. No sharing with them, but then again, sharing is overrated.

That just it, I wanted to see if there was any benefit with going to a family plan, doesn’t seem like it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I need to re-up my business phone here and it seems like the Peace of Mind plans with Telus seems to be the way to go if I don't switch providers. I currently have 12GB/mth and frequently hit around 10GB but its not uncommon to encroach or surpass my limit if I'm in the field or streaming in my truck lots. For us simpletons, how throttled do they get once you go over your "high speed allotment" in terms of being able to stream a song on iTunes, listen to a podcast, or browse the grams? I'm thinking of going with a 20GB plan but my pseudo unemployed ass might go help out my buddy during harvest and sitting in a combine all day will take its toll on data. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Public Mobile is the way to go for daughters. The 3G data is so slow, there is no way she will be snapchatting inappropriate stuff.

Public Mobile has a flash sale on today for a free month. I think the 5gb for $40 plan is the sweet spot for value.
As always, the link in my sig gets me referral bonuses of $1/mo.
