Cool, just follow the instructions that your wife gets and you should be set.

Yea the deal is strict BYOD only. Which makes sense since offering free 0% financing costs them something.
Did some more research and apparently with the device it would be $98.75 per month with bring it back. So that would still be better than $115 I am paying for just my line plus the phone.

And then second line could go down from $70 to $50.

Tried calling the number but they are closed but I think I will have to talk to them to figure it out. I would return this iPhone but it's already got more than 30 mins talk time so don't think I will be able to return. So basically will have to see if they can give me the $98.75 plan and I get to keep the iPhone and my wife's line just goes down to $50. Which is still decent if doable since right now I am doing $75 + $70 + $40 = $185, whereas with this (if I am understanding it right) it will be $98.75 + $50 = $148.75 so $36/month lower.

anyone know if that is still only restricted to BYOD? or does it work with device financing?

Financing phones at 0% costs Telus money and as such financing is only available on plans they make more money on?

The logic makes sense, but it doesn't say one way or another. Although now i see it says New Activations only so it's moot for me as i'm already with Telus EPP.

What's the deal with "bring it back?" I'm assuming the phone needs to be in good condition or they charge you the cost you save? Or cost of the phone? Anyways, I don't like it....

I believe it has to be decent condition. Wear and tear is OK but but broken screens or major damage they would charge you the amount.

One thing to keep in mind is the buyout amount isn't the full price of the phone. Think of it like a lease with a buyout option at the end. To give you an idea of how it works, iPhone 12 Pro is around $1400, then after 2 years the bring it back buyout is $500ish. The phone will almost certainly be worth more than that in 2 years, so in theory you would be better off paying the $500 to buy it out and sell privately. Or if you don't want to deal with the hassle just give it back if you want to upgrade phones. Or if you like it, you pay the amount and keep it.

Overall it just gives you a lot of options so i like the concept personally.

I had converted our phones to Telus EPP a few weeks back through my wife's work. At that time for that $50 plan it was BYOD. If I wanted to finance a device, it was $63 for the 20GB option plus the phone financing. Which for the iPhone 12 Pro Max was coming to a total of just over a $100 with taxes. Still not bad all things considering but kinda takes away the nice ring the $50 plan has. So I just left both our lines on BYOD and if I want a new device I think it makes sense to just buy it outright so you an keep this plan long term? Anyone run the math whether better to finance in this case or just buy outright?

Got a call yesterday from Rogers Winback (i switched from them almost a year ago so surprised it took this long). The deal they offered me is shockingly good:

    - Line 1 - $36 for 25GB ($45 but discounted 20%)
    - Line 2 - $36 for 25GB ($45 but discounted 20%)
    - Tablet addon - $10 (shares data with one of the lines)
    Total: $82 + tax

Additionally, they would provide a $300 bill credit towards a new phone.

I had actually placed an order for a new phone with Telus EPP on Black Friday but it was back ordered 4-6 weeks, so going to confirm i can still cancel and if so will be switching back to Rogers as this seems too good to be true.

Well made the switch back to Rogers. Was also able to get him to add Beats Solo Pro headphones for $100 ($280 off reg price) as it's an active promo on Rogers.

I either got scammed really hard for my personal info or made out like a bandit. Don't think i'll believe it until i see the phone in the mail in 4 weeks but it seemed legit. I already see the credit check on my credit report showing Rogers so pretty sure it's real.

The best part is... he asked if i could refer more people to him. Apparently they can sign up anyone as long as they aren't a current Rogers customer (although Fido probably excluded too). Gonna pass along the info to my siblings to see if they can do it and if it turns out that he can sign up anybody i'll post the info in here.

If she is in a medium-large sized company. Try the Telus EPP verification with her company email in case it works.

If this is all real then send me a referral, I wouldn't mind switching to Rogers from Telus EPP, for a deal like this.

So it’s legit as I called Rogers after the call and they verified the new account number. Just a waiting game now for the back ordered iPhone.

I pm’d you the contact info, give him a shout tomorrow during business hours and give it a shot. I mentioned it to my siblings and a couple friends, they called but it went to VM but maybe they were just closed or busy at the time

Reading on rfd, these winback promos are usually kinda weird like this with random phone numbers and sometimes you have to jump thru hoops, but definitely worth it if you can get it

Cool come to think of it I missed a call from a 403 number and voicemail was left from Fido. I used to have Fido until I switched to Telus a few years ago so maybe that was a similar call I got. Not sure.

Anyway will give your number a shot tomorrow and see what happens. Basically I will ask for everything to replicated as you including the Beats and upgrading phone and see what I get. For the device you just buy outright and they take off $300 or you do the whole 'bring it back' programs with an additional monthly payment?
