I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I am at my wits end with Telus.

I am looking at a BYOD deal with freedom for the wife and I.
For freedom people, what is coverage like?
I am frequently in the field (Fort St. John, Grande Prairie, etc) so reception will be important.
    Is there another preferred option?
You only have 2 options and Freedom isn't one of them.

If you are ok with Telus, try their subbrands. If not Rogers has quite a deal via Co-Op today. And it's supposed to be a pricing error.

    $45/mth for 100GB
    0 down
    iPhone 16 128GB - $14/mth with $390 buy out after 2 years
iPad 10 - $14/mth with 0 buy out (data share)

    NEVERMIND: They fixed the website.

Freedom is amazing. You just roam on the fastest tower available in Canada for free. I get 1 bar on Telus and 4 bars on Rogers at home. I'm with Freedom, so it just switches me over.

Ive taken it all over north America now, no issues.
I can eat more hot wings than you.

    $45/mth is BYOD price.

    With devices it's $55/mth.

Not sure if people who were abled to book one got their phone. The next day they swtiched the site to "contact us".

just came back from wow mobile. went from Koodo to Telus.

    1st line - $45/200gb including Telus internet discount($15) and auto-pay($5) +$10 iPhone 16($380 BIB)
    2nd line - $35/200gb +$5 for S24($180 BIB)

$70 activation fee credited $10 over 7 months. Got a shit ton of overpriced accessories. I'm happy for the next 2 years.

Funny thing is I'm leaving Telus.
I knew of this deal and after 3 hours on the phone the end result is "you aren't a new customer".
    17 years with Telus.

they still have that pricing error it seems, the real deal was the crazy trade in stacking, old phone getting a bonus and then the google device bonus stacking on top

See this is exactly the game I have no interest in playing.
Its either you want my business, or you don't.
I recognize in the grand scheme of Telus, the revenue lost from my wife and I leaving is a grain of sand on a beach.
Its more of a loyalty thing to me.

Either way, we will be moving on.

You gotta just shift your mindset and get used to playing the game every few years.

    I hear you.
When I switched to Rogers, I was convinced that I wouldn’t go back to Telus. However, I had a bad start with Rogers, and I had no interest in going back and forth between their call center and dealer.

In my last call with them saying: you treat new customers better than existing. Fine, I'm just going to switch to another provider offering a better deal, thanks. Then hung up.

Within 1 hour I had a call back and offered a better plan than I was trying to get. As an update, I thought it was 150gb but it's 180gb a month. Way more than we need but the price point is right.

It's amazing how every company has quarterly financial reports talking about XXX number of new subscribers, but nothing for subscribers lost... as if their customer base only grows without losing any ever.
