I wonder if the plans are all going to be shit in December when the terms are up from that initial deal a year and a half ago.
Are you talking about that $60 for 10 gig's and unlimited talk/text around Christmas 2017? Telus already jacked my rate on that one $10/month. Fucking pissed me off but still pretty cheap.

Weird, I have the same plan but with Koodo and they haven't budge a penny on it...

I have that same 10gb/$60 plan with Bell but they raised the price by $5 back in April. It’s still a decent deal for now.

Does Telus/Bell have any sweet plans right now?

I am with Fido and while the plan is good $75/month for unlimited everything and 10GB data - I hate the fact that I get dropped calls in parkades, elevators and sometimes just randomly in the middle of the city. I am on month to month so not bound by them - wouldn't mind signing up a family plan either for the wife and myself if there is a good plan/price point out there.

Just curious, do the people in this thread not have extended coverage as a part of their plan/contract?
    Will fuck off, again.

I think I have extended coverage (see EXT beside Fido every now and then) but that still doesn't help in dropped calls though.

Switching providers isn’t going to help you on that one. Radio waves aren’t magic.

Yea it would. I typically have my calls go from my office to the parkade (P3) to my car. Zero drops or voice quality issues, over VoIP or actual voice call on Bell. I've done this in multiple buildings and Telus/Bell is fucking magic.

Now for my friends on Rogers, their calls drop when the parkade elevator closes at ground level haha. I use Bell on my phone. It ain't cheap, but it's very reliable. On my tablet, I'm cheap so I'm on Fido. I can live with shit spots here and there, and worst case, tether to the phone.

I looked online and Bell has a BYOP plan for $75/month with 10GB data as well. Which is exactly what I am paying with Fido so I already know that I am for sure switching. I am just trying to do some research to see if I can get my wife's plan on board as well for some sort of a deal as we are currently independent with Fido. Technically my current Fido plan is $65/month for 10GB data but with the $7 add-on option for visual voicemail, it works out to $75+ anyway.

I think the gold standard is $60 for 10GB for Big 3 and $45 for 10GB for Freedom.

I have seen plan as low as $75/mth from Fido 10GB that includes a $0 iPhone XR during this back to school season.

Not to get too far off my own topic, but does Telus make it as easy to do a family plan for cell phones? I think we have 4 lines now, and Rogers basically allows you to have one main phone with data and voice, and then you can piggy-back additional lines with relatively little cost.
Telus will do family plan but the price won't be in your favor.

ie. You may be able to get BYOP for 10GB for $60/$70 per line and family plan will share that 10GB and each additional line is like $40. I'm not familiar with this but from what my co-work told me they are on.

Eventually kids grew up and need more data and he punt them off to Freedom so they can get their own data plan for less/same.

Kind of answering my own question from earlier, but telus has an unlimited US/canada plan for $95/mo. But you are locked into it for 24 months. And have to pay a break fee if you switch plans in that term. Fucking pirates.

If you can live with 8.5gb and 3g speeds, lucky has a $50 BYOP plan (Bell network)

Also stacks with the Dollarama $20 promo (no expiration yet I think ) and the $25 Referral promo (before end of month, stackable)

Well back of napkin math says it’s around 20 bucks a month more than a Canada plan. So with Roam like home at 7 bucks a day, you need to be using your phone in the US at least 35 days a year to make it work?

Probably makes sense if you are a snowbird, otherwise no.

It's not my use in the USA that's most important. It's included long distance TO the USA that I need. Although I'll be in the US a bit too.

I feel like unlimited US and Canada calling is a lot less than 20/mo.

I have unlimited calling to the US for free with my 65 dollar 7GB Rogers Apega plan.

I have it on my $60 public mobile plan.
Damn, are we in the wrong cellphone thread now? I think that's my fault.

Both wife and i are on the $65/10GB thru Rogers, but the past couple of months i've been using just over 10GB and end up having to add a 1.5GB add on for $20 so it ends up costing me $85.

Thinking of going to the 20GB Telus EPP for $76, but I really don't feel like switching providers. Has anyone had any luck getting Rogers to price match the EPP plans lately?
Was about to switch both our accounts to the Telus EPP plan, but called Rogers just to see what they could do.

Was offered 14GB Unlimited for $70/month (apparently a retention plan) so switched both our lines to these and now don't have to deal with the hassle of switching and also get unlimited throttled if we go over the 14GB. That should be enough for a while until something else comes out that eats data lol.

    TLDR
    Before: 2x lines 10GB each for $65 = $130/month
    After: 2x lines 14GB LTE + unlimited throttled each for $70 = $140/month

I'm on Fido (Rogers) and I can't even remember the last time I had a dropped call. My phone doesn't drop calls 3-4 floors down in a concrete parkade or the elevator of the last 2 buildings I've worked in. It might have more to do with the phone than the provider if you're having significant issues with dropped calls.
