    Nice.

I went with the $24/month 4GB LTE plan. However my phone is showing 5G in the status bar. I know the LTE, LTE+, 5G, 5G+ labels are mostly meaningless. Did some speed tests and I'm getting around 100MB/s download and about 12MB/s upload. With Rogers "5G" I was getting around 150 to 200MB/s down and about 25MB/s up. The Public Mobile speed is fast enough for me and not really a noticeable difference with regular use. Call quality etc are totally fine if not a bit better than Rogers.
I was getting about 250mbps on the 5G plan.

Just got a call from Telus on my business plan renewal. Gone down quite a bit!

Currently paying: (This x 2 as I have 2 phones on the account)
    20gb unlimited: $80
Device Lease: $37 (Pixel 6 Pro)
    Device protection $15
    $245/month

    New Offer:
    100gb unlimited: $50
Device Lease: $9.45 (Pixel 8 Pro)
    Device protection $15
    $149/month

Optional: Pixel 8 regular would be $0.00.

So far this sounds too good to pass up...

You should contact Bell's small business line and get a quote from them. People were getting 25-30$ a month plans out of Telus/Bell so $75 seems quite high even with the phones. They likely can offer you something better and even if you don't take it you can take that price back to Telus.

Not sure if its BS.. but also told this plan expires tonight. Hate when they do that. Actual phone plan is $50... extras a device lease etc.

Not complaining about my $44.00 per line unlimited Rogers APEGA, but saw some sick promo deals from Rogers when walking around the mall on the weekend. Hopefully they update that soon and I can switch to another lower plan.

Trade off is we don’t get mmWave which would have been a nice to have.
Auction happened last Nov? I guess giving the telco a year to set it up and we are ready for iPhone 16 with mmWave?

Rogers just put up a giant tower right in front of someone's house in my hood. Looks nothing like any tower I have ever seen. Probably a new mmWave tower.

Sucks for that guy having to look at a monstrosity daily.

mmWave is very short range. It’s designed for high traffic density areas. Not someone’s house.

Tried the old "XX Provider called me and offered me a credit, what can you do" and manged to get $15 credit per line/month

    New Offer:
    100gb unlimited: $50
Device Lease: $9.45 (Pixel 8 Pro)
    Device protection $15
    Monthly Credit: -$15
    $59.45/month

    $118.90 Total for 2 phones/month
Pretty good considering we were paying $245 before!

Was wrong. Talking to the guys putting this thing up, it's not mmWave. Just another 3.8Ghz tower.

mmWave auction hasn't happen yet. Set for this year.

Still sux to be living in front of this eye sore.

So I have 2 personal lines with Telus at $60 each (with a bunch of discounts applied) and 1 line with Public at $50 which includes US-Canada. I saw Public has promo for $34/line for 5G and 50GB data or something so I want to change my 2 personal lines from Telus to that. Seems to be for only new accounts so I can't go under my Public Mobile account.

I just went online and created 2 new accounts with Public using 2 different email addresses and paid for the 2 different plans at $34 each line. From what I understand, now I gotta wait to get the 2 SIM's in mail and when I get them, I then go to the Public Mobile app and do the next steps, right? For the 2 lines, I don't want new numbers, and would like to transfer my current Telus numbers, and I believe I can do that at that point once the SIM gets here. Right @ExtraSlow ? Since you're the expert in everything Public Mobile. Haha.

I also found out Public Mobile starts after you activate your physical SIM so you don't need to rush to start your plan. Those couple days it takes to come in the mail doesn't matter. But yes you can transfer your number.

Public is the easiest porting ever, even easier with eSim.

On public for a week or so, had issues sending a text once when an imessage just kinda got deleted. Was strange. Other than that problem free

Some comments online seem to suggest you cant use WhatsApp to make calls if you're in Public? Sounds absurd to me but any truth to this?

When I switched Koodo to Virgin I had some imessage issues initially. Had to go and disable imessage then re-enable it in order for it to sync with my new carrier. Maybe whatsapp has something similar?

Some people on RFD are saying prices are going up for plan with various providers if you are on BYOD and not locked in. If one company up their prices people will go to another provider unless they collective do that same rate hike.
