Unless that extra data has value to you all you are doing is voluntarily giving Rogers more money

I could use this and swap out of shitty Rogers reception. Any idea how to get on it?

I got the same call, it was actually scammers. I got a the sense when on the phone it wasn't 100% legit. I knew it wasn't when they asked for credit card info. Even the email they sent me was poorly put together with random telus logos.

that seems like a great deal.

I'm with Telus and I'm paying $65 for 25 gigs of data and unlmited calling and texting to Canada and the USA. I don't think the $40 premium I'm paying for the USA calls is worth it at all based on what you are getting

I switched to Koodo on Black Friday. 20gb $55 unlimited text and calls. For a extra $1 a month I got a iPhone XS Max.
Wife did the same but got a iPhone 13 for $30 a month but saved $10 a month since we switched from TELUS. So hers is $75 with the phone.

Bump. Need a different plan from Telus. Currently on their old peace of mind plan for $75 minus discounts.

Running into the data cap and thus speed throttle pretty much every month, which makes the phone useless. Pretty much doesn't load anything.

I want to get a shareable data plan for my wife and I. She doesn't use much data as she is always on wifi at work and home. I don't have wifi at work so I suck up my data. Sharing data seems to be the way to go.

I have been looking at the 'Unlimited 50 5G+' plan. Cost is $87.50 per line for two people. 50GB of data. That's the one I'm leaning towards, tho I wish it was a bit cheaper. I have a mobile + home services discount currently that I hope I'd get to keep but not sure.

    Anything else you guys recommend?

Edit: Should also mention that my wife is currently on the old peace of mind plan for $75.

Telus epp plans used to be good. Are those still a thing?

Might become relevant to me later this year if my employment situation changes.

Funny this thread should come up. After Friday's fiasco.

I'm with Rogers since 2005. My current plan since 2010 is $50 5gb of data unlimited nationwide etc. Data overages if I go over, but I rarely do.

Wife just got a deal with Bell (been with them for a while) $55 25GB data, slows down if you go over, unlimited etc...

Called up on Thurs to see if Rogers to would do for me since I'm such a long time customer etc. Offered me a $5 discount on current plan or go to Bell. Then Friday happened and I laughed. Still gonna leave Rogers, but looking for best deal if anyone knows of any. I may just hop on the wife's plan.

I was with rogers for something like 20 years, my plan expired and I was looking for a decent plan to replace it with matching a Telus plan. Retentions wouldn't do anything for me even when I threatened to switch to Telus. So I switched. A week after I ported my number I stared getting calls from Rogers Win-back department offering me better deals and saying I had to week to cancel with Telus with no penalty. It annoyed me so I stuck with Telus. You could play their game and see what they offer you.

That sounds like a merry go round that I don't have the patience for.

My plan was to call them today while at work... "Business call".

I'm guessing 2h waiting on hold for retention dept. Will report back.

There's a reason I claim that public Mobile has the best customer service staff and systems.

Looking to get signed up on a family plan, anyone have any recommendations? Seems like all plans are priced around the same

Shaw seems like the actual best deal for a cheap family plan. If I could stomach Shaw home services that's what I'd do.

Instead I run three separate Public Mobile plans for a combined $99.

just an fyi the shaw coverage seems to suck really bad. I run 1x rogers and 1x bell phone which typically have pretty good coverage whereas my wife's phone on shaw never has any signal outside of major urban center...

Weird, I thought they used the major carrier network outside of the city. My buddy has his whole family on Shaw and he gets great coverage all over rural. Alberta and BC.

The wife's phone is still on Shaw after moving away from Calgary, no issues with reception while living in the sticks, alongside she would get coverage while camping and I had zero service on my phone through Bell. Her phone will switch to using the Nationwide network if Shaw's isn't available, slower LTE speeds are the result.

To each their own, we've had no problems with her phone over 2+ years through Shaw and would recommend.

Coverage of edge areas are the worst depends on the phone as it tries to decide to roam or not. Once you are fully out, you are fine.

I notice Pixel is better at this than Samsung and Motorola is a lost cause.
