Public Mobile has discontinued MMS for many phone models as of Feb 14, although they axed some sooner, and some later. Here's my latest interaction with them through the troubleshooting:

If the issue is still with MMS, please keep in mind that is an outdated method of sending files and the first recommendation is to use a newer method. You can also delete all the APNs in the settings of the device and add the updated one, following the steps form the website. Also, keep in mind that you will need the wi-fi turned off and mobile data turned on to use MMS

Phone released in 2021 (TCL 20S), I was fully on RCS before this debacle. After confirming my APN settings I'm left with this reply:

Sadly if those are the settings in the device, there is nothing else we can recommend from our end.

Now I get to decide between switching carriers or how much is MMS worth to me.

The key to using discount network is stay on the major 3 NA phones. Pixel, iPhone, Samsung.

None, and it shows. I was duped, fortunately I didn't lose a dime unless someone MMS'd me cash.

Google pixel too. It's the same network as Telus,. They report some issues with older phones as well.

I pay $65 on Rogers for 100gb. unlimited everything else and Canada/USA data roaming.

I dont hate my Telus bill, im paying $208/mo for 2 lines with 200GB/Unlimited USCAN Data. Sounds like a lot but I have 2 iPhones being leased for $50/mo in that amount

Plus I think I get some kickback on my home service bill for having a couple mobile lines.

Because they know you don't need it. So they are really selling you 10gb gb for $50.

Telcos have Canadians terrified of "running out of data" so 90 percent of people pay more per month as some kind of perverse insurance. Great business for the telcos.

Because giving you what you need isn't the goal. Its getting you to pay more. They offer you something that doesn't cost them anything in exchange for more money. Actual value vs perceived value.
